I caught the show at The Sterling Hotel in Allentown when one of my writers, Keith Hummel, who has been a fan forever saw you were there. I moved right up front it was unspeakably glorious. Watching the entire band being so intuned with the music and just the performance was more than worth the drive.

Anyway, I want to give kudos to the whole band in our magazine, The Pennsylvania Musician and I need to know their names ASAP as I'm on a deadline. It was October 19th at the Sterling.

I know Frank and from the website I might guess by the pictures but would hope someone could email me the answers.

Thanks so much! Robs

1300 miles is a long way to travel to see great music. Friday night I witnessed the performance in Springfield, Va. Although I've seen Frank many times, this is the one show that will stick in my mind. I was at the show in Shreveport, La. where the first live albumn was recorded and have not witnessed the intensity of these shows in many many years. When I walked into Jaxx's in Va. I thought to myself, "What the hell is he playing a club this small for?" Man, did it pay off, big time. I was situated right at Frank's pedal board. I could have reached out a touched him anytime during the 3 hrs. and 15 minutes that he got down and I mean got down! He rarely opened his eyes to see the crowd and many times I wanted to reach up and hand him a tie back for his hair. Frank if you read this, your still the Man. The last time I saw you burn like that was at the Ritz in Ft. Worth, Texas in the early eighties. We left a rose with a joint in the center at the base of your mic. and you pulled it out with your teeth at the end of the show. I brought my son this time to witness what only you can do. Thanks for all of the great memories from the Texas and California Jams to my new highlight of a musical journey. Please come back to Texas, ASAP

Been a fan for a while. The show in Anapolis in October of 2005 was a re-aquaintance of the music and passion Frank has for performing. Great show, loved it and two days later my ears stopped ringing! Thank you for staying committed to rock and roll!

I just had the experience of a lifetime while attending the October 21, 2005 show at Jaxx in Springfield, Virginia. I'm still blown away and it's the best show I've ever seen, bar none, after 25 years of concerts.

Thank you Frank, for sharing your music and for coming back on tour. I can't wait to see you again. I especially appreciate the time you took after the gig to meet fans and sign stuff. You're trully a class act, God bless you!

I just saw the show at BB kings in NYc last nite. I saw your show at Giant Stadium in 1977 I didnt even play the guitar real well yet. You blew me away then and You blew me away last night What I would like to know is how did you learn all that jazz stuff. I would love to know what scales and lics you use. I know Hendrix didnt use diminished scales but I see you learned alot of duane and dicky betts stuff soloing in E over a like in elizabeth reed is that just an extension of that or did you learn jazz per say. All I know is that I loved playing all your stuff in my bands especially the Answer and King Bee Baby I cant wait to see you guys again. By the way the fiddle guy blows John Luc Ponty away.

greetings frank,
i seen you at the annex in madison in oct. and as being a life long fan
you still are 1 phenominal performer and musician. my sister(bass) and i
(drums) met ya down in the dressing room, but alas i had a bit too much
of the party sauce and the encounter was a little hazy. at least i got your
autograph to prove it really happened! at any rate i was very pleased
to make your aquaintance and after seeing you shred the neckboard i'm
glad i picked the drums as my perfered instrument.
keep rockin,see ya again.

Wow!! The Mahogany Rush show at the Rex in Pittsburg was unreal! I missed my first chance to see this legend play 20 years ago, back in Arizona. I've since given up this dream and never expected this to happen. My first exposure to Frank Marino came when a classmate let me borrow his "Tales of the Unexpected" album; I've never heard of Mahogany Rush before. Needless to say, I was hooked. I really dug the soulfull blend of jazz, funk grooves, and bluesy rock. The live side smoked! After grabbing my own copy, I picked up "Power of Rock and Roll", then the 1978 Live album. At that point I could probably be termed a "Marinohead"! Since that time (around '82-'83) up untill several years back, I've seen quite a few shows, some with remarkable players. I've witnessed Malmsteen, Satriani, E. Johnson, J. Petrucci, etc. I can honestly say no one has hit me emotionally with the impact of Frank Marino! Frank is my absolute favorite guitarist. His band was outstanding as well. Mahogany Rush played with conviction and were such an absolute joy to watch. They are now my favorite live band- THREE HOURS of changes, dynamics, emotion and power! This is the kind of live concert I've allways wanted to see. Thank you for giving me this experience- I've become a born-again Marinohead. -Peace, Davidcrazy

Have only seen Frank live once but it was tremendous, emotional and the last song he played some years ago was louder than I remember Led Zep!

Would love to jam with Frank--my bluesy psychedelic harp.

Peace,

Bruce

I waited 25 years to see Mahogany Rush and this year, in London, it finally happened. I still can't believe you played for three hours - nor can I believe just how good those three hours were or how much you seemed to enjoy yourself doing them. There's a lot that many other bands could learn from you about giving the fans a good time, real value for money, and how to play a guitar!

WOW! I am a long time fan and have wondered where you've gone since late '70's-early 80's. I used to work at CBS Records when they were here. I shipped alot of your LP's and tapes. That is where i got turned on to your music. I then saw you in concert in Indianapolis at the Convention Center, in a triple bill with Humble Pie and Mothers Finest. It was without a doubt the best concert ive ever seen in my 46 years in this strange universe. I recently found this sight and am damn glad i did. You are and always will be the best guitarist....EVER! Sorry i missed your show when you came to my town and played at the small club across from Plumbers and Steamfitters Union hall. I was so pissed because i had to work. I used to have all of your albums, until my exwife divorced me and broke them all, the fucking bitch! Been trying to find them all on cassettes (yes, i still love cassettes, lol), but been hard to find them in stores. Someday i will just have to order them online on CD's. Well, im glad i found your site and God bless you Frank. Rock on! Mahogany Rush forever. I love Sister Change and Dragonfly. Best wishes, Jeff Davis, Terre Haute, Indiana.

Un Freakin' Real!! I was fortunate to catch the Rex theater/ Pittsburg show on Thursday, and it was absolutely incredible. I missed out on a chance to see Frank Marino play in Arizona about 20 years ago. After kicking myself and since losing hope that I could ever witness this legend play live, I was totally freaked out when a friend from work mentioned this show to me. I was definately not going to miss out this time! I have seen some incredible bands and guitarists over the years- the likes of Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Satriani, etc., but NO ONE had the effect on me that Frank Marino had! I was literally teared up- I've never felt so much intensity, passion, guts and outright power that Frank had screaming out of him! His band kicked ass too! Mahogany Rush was such an absolute joy to see; three hours of dynamics and straight ahead jamming- this is what a live band should be. It was real, without all the commercial pre-tense and crap. If I can see only one band again, it would be Mahogany Rush. Thank you for this incredible experience. Oh, and thanks to some other Marino heads for chatting with me before the show; I don't recall the names, but they were some great people! -Peace.

Dear Frank,
Thank you for the many hours of enjoyment spent listening to your music.
I was a junior in High school when strange universe came out and it was one of my first album purchases.
I was totally impressed with the Quality of music and lyrics. I think I wore that album out before the year was over although I still have it for the cover.

I thought for sure you were destined fro super star status and was always a little puzzled why that never came to fruition.

I recently came across your web site and was very happy to be able to play some of your tunes to my friends.

I hope you come to Hillsboro, or the Portland Oregon Area for a live performance some day…

Thanks again and good health….
