I have just listened to " Reallive " and I am speechless! I listen to tons of progressive and guitar related music and nothing comes close to this amazing display of grace and power. Thank you

Just finished reading the new interview, An' I gotta say I totally agree with Frank on everything he says 'bout the "Industry", I guess he should know with all the crap they (Columbia, etc) put him through! I'm fortunate enough to be able to work at a (small) radio station where I can program my own music, and I put Frank and Mahogany Rush on everyday!! Can't wait to buy the new live album! Keep up the excellent work, Your site Totally rules!!!

I've been a loyal fan since about 1976, hearing "Strange Universe" in a friend's basement, and quickly snapping up the then new "IV"album, and the first three albums whenever I found them. Each successive album was snapped up at release and played incessantly. I would go to the shows when I knew about the gigs locally, and actually met Frank, Jim, and Paul, once, at the Peaches Record Store which used to be in Rockville, MD. Paul was rollerskating thru the aisles (and hordes of chics) when I asked him to sign the "Strange Universe" album I had brought along. He stated he had not seen that in awhile and said he wanted to show it to Frank and Jimmy.
So I got through the throng of girls, there to see the band, and got to meet Frank face to face (Jim was seated beside him). I still have the album, (which unfortunately Jim didn't sign) and will remain a loyal fan. I suppose the Hendrix angle first attracted me to Marino's music, but that was quickly replaced by the integrity of Frank's playing. He has always done his own thing, even when the covers are note for note, you know it's Frank Marino! The ultimate cap to fandom would be to see and hear Frank Marino on his home turf in Montreal. That would be a treat for an old fan!

Since 1980 when i first listened "Dragonfly" on the radio (in USA)
Frank became my guitar hero. I never heard in my life a man playing guitar
like he does. I'm 53 and my top5 names in music are the Beatles, the Electric
Prunes,Frank Marino&Mahogany Rush,Santana and Pink Floyd.
I was very lucky to see all of them in person except Frank.
This is my last "dream come true". I'm sure i'm gonna make it real as i did
with the Electric Prunes the last 2 years !!
The guy is from another planet...

Wow! I just got my autographed copy of Real LIVE and before the first five minutes of the first track on the first cd are over I was totaly blown away by that familiar blues scale from What's Next. Did I also notice the wah-wah parts in Loved by You in that solo? It,s absolutely amazing! Frank, I,m sure this cd will influence the next Twentyfive years of my giutar playing just as LIVE,WHAT,S NEXT, THE POWER OF ROCK AND ROLL AND JUGGERNAUT influenced my first Twentyfive. Oh Yah, Kim my Wife thanks you for mentioning her name along with mine on the cd. This is one dynomite example of guitar bombardment, I,m so charged up I,VE SPENT THE LAST FOUR HOURS BLOWING OFF MINOR SCALES AND WAMMY DIVES WITH WARBLES! COOOOOOOOL!!!!! lovelovelovecrazy

In 1975, when I was a very green 12 years of age, I happened upon the album IV through the older brother of a friend, and my life changed from then on from a drift towards shallow mediocrity to a plunge into the magic of Mahogany Rush.
Although there are, and have been, many mortals cast upon this earth as guitar heros full of mechanics and technique, there are a mere dozen who will eventually take their place beside the likes of Hendrix and Zappa, to name but a few, and it is clear that only those guitarists with a heart of compassion and the poetic soul such as Frank Marino and also deservedly, Ulrich Roth. These two are the only guitarists I still buy material of and try to emulate in my modest guitar studies. I feel I can name them in the same sentence for they are cut from the same block (though I don't know if they even like each other personally and/or professionally) and both represent the unwavering and incorruptible pursuit of professional integrity and musical achievement of personal conquest. The music industry has always left carcasses on the wayside, though the remains of Frank Marino you will never find.
I am proud to count myself to those in the vein of the Marinohead: for I too will also always play his music to those I think have never heard him, whether in the automobile or at home. I will always try to get Frank Marino played on radio stations. I will never cease trying to turn people on to Frank Marino... for I remember the magic I felt back in 1975 and that has followed me throughout life, so I shall do unto others.
I also absolutely loved "Eye Of The Storm"!

If you like blues,rock-n-roll,and even a little bit of jazz thrown in for good measure just to balance out what could very well be the best live album of ALL time then by all means do purchase the RealLive cd by Frank.....there's not a song on it that doesn't make you sit back in awe and amazement at how this man does what he does better than anyone else on guitar. If ever there was a God given talent then Frank has it!!!
God bless you and yours Mr. Frank Marino and thanks so much for recording this great set of songs.

Hi Frank! I must say you must be one of the hardest working guitarist in the world.Every track sounds different, never boring and your arraingments are so well thought out you make it sound easy. However I must be brutally honest with you and your fans (please don't hate me) but being such a big fan I've seen you many times here in Montreal from the early days until now. When you used to play with Paul and Jim and only as a trio, you guys put everyone to shame, boy you guys were rockin'.Now it's more different. You see with Paul and Jim you guys were off the charts playing live. Now,the difference is YOUR level of musicianship is a 10+ but the rest of the other guys are UNDER you.I truly hope I did not offend anybody but the truth is we miss the old school kick-ass power trio known as Mahogany Rush. Love you Frank!

Frank:

I saw you on the "World Anthem" tour on July 4 1977 in Memphis TN sandwiched between Foreigner and Uncle Ted(Nugent). Your performance that night blew my 13 year mind. I decided what I was going to do with my life that night, and I'll never forgive you for it(just kidding). I steal your licks unmercifully and combine them with my own to create my own style. I have something else in common with you as Ibuild my own effects also(see website).

Thanks For Ruining My Life!winkwinkwink

Totally the most amazing guitarist I have ever listened to.
There is no one else better or more talented than this individual.
I was not aware of your music until a good friend of mine introduced me to your stuff and I am so glad this has happened.
Keep jamming a storm.

Hi Frank,

Just thought of sharing one of the greatest surprises I've ever received
with all of your great and dedicated fans.

A while ago, I've had the opportunity to meet Frank in person, thanks to a
cleverly masterminded plot initiated by Graeme Bishop, Frank's Manager, and a true gentleman.

Frank, thanks for coming out that night and thank you for the autographed
CD, you have no idea as to what that kind gesture meant.

To all those die hard fans out there, Frank is a "CLASS ACT", both on stage and off !!!!

Frank, it was a pleasure seeing you again at the Hard Rock Cafe and I wish
to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to you and your family, and to the success that is rightfully yours.

Looking forward to the DVD and the blues CD.

ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
