Frank the jimi hendricks still is alive and kickin through your hands. Thanks and many more for real guitar master that can't be touched or even try to come close to your ability to pound out the magic of your hands. You are a master guitarist that no one can even come close. Hope you would be able to preform for many years to come. Maybe you can get a gig at penns peak in jimthorpe, pawhich is a real good concert hall check it out pennspeak.com.

Thanks Frank for your excellent music and incredible guitar playing.
I have been a fan of yours since I first heard you in the late 70's.
Saw you live at the Hammersmith Oden, London and your performance was absolutely awesome.
I'm a guitarist and have been playing since 1969. Your music and playing has always inspired me.
Like you, I also grew up listening to the Beatles, Hendrix, Zeppelin, etc. So I understand where you're coming from.
I'm always listening to your music, especially 'Power Of Rock And Roll', and the guitar playing never fails to send a shiver up my spine.
Keep Rockin'

Alex

P.S. Any plans for a live DVD?

I'm a 32 year old guitar picker and singer who grew up on Hendrix and Zeppelin, etc. Only now am I hearing of Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush for the first time in my life! Where has this guy been in my life for the past 16 years of listening to Classic Rock stations like Q107 in Toronto?

If only program directors paid as much attention to Frank as they do to the Guess Who, BTO and Kim Mitchell...Canadian rock radio would benefit greatly!!!

One of the all time greats, no question. Knew it back in '75 when you blew Nazareth off the stage in Halifax.

Haven't seen any tour dates for 2006 ??

Keep on rockin' Frank , love to see you "down east"

I grew up listening to Guit War and Land of 1000 Nights with two large "thruster" speakers pressed against either ear and the volume cranked to 10. Thank God I can still hear because Frank's playing is better than ever. I found the 3-CD collection of his first 3 albums a few years ago and just discovered that he is still a working musician when I found your website. The "Real Live" CD is incredible. How does he do that???

I have some friends who think Steve Vai rules the guitar universe and am going to loan them that CD set and duly educate them. Not their fault, really, as most people weren't exposed to the group.

As a teenager I taught myself to play guitar on a '72 SG and only "retired"
it a few years ago. I always bonded with Frank for carrying the SG torch and am especially happy to see that he never set it down.

Thanks for all you have done for the worthy cause and now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to put the speakers against my ear and listen to the greatest rock I've heard in years. Thanks!

I have loved your music since my older brother played dragonfly off the MRL album in the mid seventies. I am delighted to find out you've released a new live album and are still out there making your wonderful music. You are an incredible guitarist with an incredible musical range. I remember drumming to dragonfly live and the songs on mahogany rush iv and going crazy playing strange dreams and in my ways (man I love that guitar part that opens the song and recurs throughout!). I think your drummer in those days was great. May God bless you Mr. Marino. Best of luck. Thank you for your music and the happiness it has given me and countless others.

Hey thanks for this web page. I used to listen to mahogany rush live all the time about 25 years ago, and had just about forgot how good it was. Unfortunately I never listened to all the other albums that is until now. Thankyou very much. Definately one of the all time unsung guitar greats.

2 WEEKS AGO, GIBSON GUITARS PUT OUT A QUESTIONAIR ASKING PEOPLE
ON THEIR WEBSITE TO LIST THEIR MOST INSPIRED GIBSON GUITAR PLAYER
AND AT THE TIME THEY WERE POSTING A PICTURE OF LINK WRAY, AND FOR
QUICK SECOND, I THOUGHT IT WAS FRANK, THEN IT DAWNED ON ME, THE
SHADES AN 50'S STYLE HAIR CUT, THAT AIN'T FRANK !!!, MY POINT, THE
GUITAR HE WAS PLAYING WAS A LES PAUL / SG !!! --- THAT GUITAR AND
FRANK ARE ONE AND THE SAME. I KNOW I HAVE AND LOVE MY SG'S AND IT IS BECAUSE OF FRANK MARINO. SO, WHAT AM I SAYING, IF ALL OF US
FRANKSTERS UNITE AND E-MAIL GIBSON THAT WE WANT A FRANK MARINO
MODEL, AND I MEAN ALL OF US WHO POST ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD, WE
SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF GETTING SOME KIND OF RESPONSE FROM GIBSON
HELL, MAKE THE 3-SINGLE MODEL, THAT WOULD REALLY BE COOL!!!angryangryangry

Thank you for providing this web site. It is a real joy to find out that there are so many other fans of Mr. Marino and Mahogany Rush. I started listening to their particular and unique syle of music back in 1976 while I was in High school. I got to see them twice and I hope to see them again some day.

smile I was reading the retrospect from Willy Parson and I too was stoned when I heard "Strange Universe", but I bought the record for a different reason. Never having heard of Mahogany Rush I bought that record strictly based on the cover art.
When I got home I pulled the vinyl from the sleeve and popped it on the turn table. I was stunned at what I was listen to.
Well that was over thrty years ago. I lost touch with a lot of the music that I liked back then. So one day while browsing through the selections of an on-line cd store the name Frank Marino came up for recommended selections. Of course I had to click on it and low 'n' behold there was the remastered double cd of those first three recordings done over thirty years ago.
I haven't been stoned for more than twenty five years, but the feeling I had for that record when I first heard it was just as good as when I "first" heard it again when I loaded my newly acquired double cd - stunning.
It's good to see that Frank Marino is still playing and recording. I've heard some of his most recent recordings and I'm intrigued. He still sounds great.

I saw Mahogany Rush with Kansas and Queen(before Freddie died)
It was at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago around 1973. I have
loved their music from the first time I heard them, seeing them
was awesome! I have seen some of the best quitarists to have ever
played,Clapton,Zappa,Satriani,Ingwe,Santana,Stevie Ray Vaughn,
Plant, to name a few. Frank Marino is one of the greats! Come play
in Phoenix, this Grandson of Canadian imigrants wants to see you again!
