This is spooky, man! I'm sitting here listening to "In my ways" from the "World anthem" album and as I check my mail, I find the latest newsletter, saying that Frank is back touring again. I can't even begin to tell you how happy that makes me in this age of semi-automatic techno crap. I grew up on Hendrix, the Allmans, Leslie West, Grateful Dead and Jeff Beck and then in 1976, right after I had got my first electric guitar, I discovered Mahogany Rush through an older friend. And, basically, that's it. I've had my interludes with fusion players like Larry Coryell, John McLaughlin and even Allan Holdsworth, but I always return to Marino, Hendrix, Robin Trower, Tommy Bolin and those guys. Now I'm sitting here with my incredibly expensive Linn turntable that needs a new needle, my collection of lp's, and am refusing to buy a cd player. To my ear, there's nothing that can beat the sound of the old analogue recordings; much in the same way that I still prefer my '62 Strat and '63 Fender DeLuxe to any of the newer marvels. And, why should I have a cd-player anyway, when all the really great stuff is on vinyl? I can cope with Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and some others of those so called "alternative" acts, but they are really mere substitutions to what I consider really worth listening to. Not that I'm hostile to modern technology - I'm a computer addict and have a small business doing desktop publishing jobs and producing websites - but when it comes to music, it's all about COLOUR and PHRASING. A BIG THANKS to Willie for providing this wonderful service and to Mahogany Rush for all that great music! Greetings from a frosty Sweden, Lasse Martensson ("Lasse" is like "Larry", so don't call me "Lassie", 'coz I'm not
