I've been a big fan since I first heard Strange Universe back in 1977 and sadly I can say I've never seen Mahogany Rush livesad Hope they could do another tour.

It is 730 on Saturday morning. All of the East Coast is still sleeping. But not me. I am listening to the Whats Next Album. Sleep is the furthest thing from my mind. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is so good that it kicks my ass. Literally. Perhaps I SHOULD get some recuperative sleep...........

Glad you are still at it. It had been many years since I dug out the vinyl and here we are with many things to catch up on. Thanks to my best friend Rob for reminding me of simpler times. May he rest in peace and may Franks legacy continue for generations. You both had a major influence in my life and as I'm sure many others. My hat is off to you both.

Bruce.

Frank... You inspired me to play the guitar when I was 16 yrs old (1980)My very 1st album was Jimi Hendrix- band of gypsies. My 2nd album was Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush- Live. Eventually I purchased every album of yours. I vividly remember my girlfriend in high school getting me What's next for my 17th birthday, I listened to that album so much, now 35 years later I still get excited when I play the lead for finish line and something's coming our way. Talking bout a feeling!smile After my band dissolved in 2001, I got into jazz and a little bit of folk. I have suffered writers block for several years now, but I recently went back to my roots( blues, old rock) just purchased 3 double cd sets of yours and I I found the inspiration to write and play again! Thanks for being my guitar hero!Btw I ruined many of cassette decks rewind button trying to figure out those lead solos. Lol!

I went to an Aerosmith concert in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late '70s and I left as a Mahogany Rush fan. Frank and the band were too good to be the front band. I am a beginner guitar learner and I hope to play some MR songs by the end of this year.

Been a fan since 1978. Influenced my guitar playing like crazy though I will never be on Frank's level. Nowhere near but I love it.

I am another 'oldie', I saw the Great Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush in Southern California, it was in 1975 0r 1976 when I saw them. I don't know the date or place wink. I lost all my ticket stubs in a fire in 1978. I have been trying to put all the Concerts I attended together with the dates and places. Does anyone know of a site that might help with getting that info?

hey frank! i was introduced to mahogany rush in the early 70s by a friend who called and said "you gotta hear this". you talk about doing alot of acid, well i went to my friends house and we each took 2 hits of acid...one hit of what was called "barrel acid" and one called "orange sunshine". after a couple hours i was trippin quite nice and he says to me "listen to this" and put "guit war" on a turntable. he always had good toys and his stereo was at the time top of the line..(i thought so anyway) it was a marantz tuner and amp with 4 bose 901s. he turned the lights off in his room in the basement of his parents house and despite having only the lights from the stereo i was seeing brilliant blues and reds and a wierd shade of pink. anyway, he turned the volume to 8 or 9 and halfway thru "guit war" i was begging him to "make it stop" it scared the holy shit out of me!! i hated him for weeks for doing that to me!! ha! i actually love listening to it now though. i saw you in seattle (i was born and raised in tacoma wa.) i want to say in 73 or 74 at the seattle center colliseum. you definitly rock and you made a life long fan with me! hope things are good for you and keep up the music please!!

I am 50 years old right now. I recall F&MH opening for someone, but I forgot who-it was a blur! But I do remember Frank tearing it up, I was front row center for his magic. I wish there was a way to trace his shows, specifically in Birmingham, AL so that I could piece together my experiences that night! I will keep trying and definitely keep listening. crazy

Thanx for playin Fresno back in the day. A well spent $7.50. Listened to my Mahogany Rush IV 8-track till it died, and I always wondered where the name Mahogany Rush came from. Now I know. Plus, you don't know how many times this went down. Rush? No, not Rush, MAHOGANY RUSH. Frank Marino. Dude, just listen to this. Man, your albums were hard to find around here, but I caught the Juggernaut album at a used record store. Strange Dreams...badass!

Cool site, gotta lotta listening to do, from what i've heard so far. Keep rockin, BillG

long time fan since the 70's. I have noticed that todays young people have on their devices mostly 60's & 70's music. The reason, I think, is it original work from the heart and gut and not electronically/computer reproduced sound. thanks for all the years of great music. I just want to say I do miss the the album cover art of yesteryear.

Hello to Frank and all who are going to read this...Just sitting at work listening to the "Live" album, as it is my favorite, and thinking about seeing Frank and the band back in the 80's at some point, I believe with Humble Pie and another band or two...have to check my ticket stubs...I've kept everyone since my first concert in 1973! Hope they decide to rock Las Vegas sometime...been wanting to see them again for years!
