I saw Frank at Cal Jam II in Ontario, California in 1977. A friend and I had $25, a case of Bud and decided to hitch hike. Well the rest is history! We got a ride to the concert where we stayed with the driver's uncle's house, which was quite nice. They drove us to the back of the racetrack and we agreed to meet at the car or should I say station wagon afterwards. We jumped the fence because we didn't have tickets and thought we would watch the concert from the back. Not! We climbed over the fencing at the actual track and made our way to the front of the concert. So many people. The stage looked to be a mile away. Once the show started here came the crushing push to the stage. I couldn't scratch my nose if I wanted to. I was feet from the stage and stayed there all day. No choice. Couldn't get out if I wanted to. After seeing some great bands it was later in the evening Frank and the band came on. Being a guitarist myself it was Frank that I wanted to see. Nugent was hit at the time but he's no Frank Marino. Nobody was! I know the comparison to Jimi has to get old but I never saw Jimi. Frank made it ok. He tore... It...up! Great old school, bluesy style that had me riveted, even though I was dying to take a piss. Remember, couldn't get out. But, after hearing the great Frank Marino I felt I met my goal and worked my little 5'6" body to the head. It was a memory I will never forget. Thanks Frank! To this day I still shred in the old school style of Hendrix and Marino. Balls to the wall!

Dear Frank - as the worlds last surviving true classic axe hero surely you owe it to humanity to release some more music soon before we all get completely dumbed down. Best wishes John Thorogood.

I always thought the marriage of your guitar and a bass synth was perfect. It took the power of that kind of bass to balance the power of your guitar. I never tire it.

Your music has been a great influence on my artwork. period.

My dad gets the credit for introducing me to it. I guess he figured I'd appreciate your music. More than right, he was!!!

Just a line to the best rock guitarist I've ever heard. With my recent addition of "Eye of the Storm" to my collection, I now own every album/cd you've made and anxiously await anything new from you. You have become a verb around my house as when my rock music loving friends come over who have never heard of you I take them to my music room and "Frank" them. All leave wanting more. Anything new coming down the pike?????

Frank ,
I have been probably your biggest fan since 1976 just a kid in Jr. high school, since then I have bought everything you have released and I think, everything you have collaborated on, Bar none.

as of June 2 2013 I lost it all due to a house fire, I have since tried to find the vinyl albums I had but I'm not having much luck. I don't mind having to replace all that I lost , God knows I love your music beyond anything.

I am wondering if you or someone on your staff can help me find all of the music that I lost, point me in the right direction , a website or links , I seriously don't think I'll ever find all the memorabilia , I had all the posters etc.. please let me know something okay thank you in advance for any and all help in this matter , Keith McDaniel. smile

You've been in my brain since 1979, and I don't mind one bit. I tried to get fellow band members to learn "King Bee" but no one was into the blues as much as I was, and they felt covering AC/DC and Ted Nugent would work better in the clubs. I'd go home from practice and throw on the first live album to cleanse myself. I also saw Mahogany Rush open a show in Omaha, Nebraska sometime around 1981 or 82. I think the headliner was BOC.

I also purchased another live album on iTunes a few years ago, but that first live album left an imprint on me that will never fade. I'll love Mahogany Rush forever.

Frank, all the Best. I hope your healing well. I have followed you from Maxoom. You have always been an under rated musician. You remind me so much of the great jimi as I listen to your work. I hope all the best for you and your family for the coming years. I was doing sound for a band at the Coronet in Kitchener during Juggernaut backing you up. Just like to say it was honour and priviledge to say the least. Heal with gods speed.smile

Hi Frank, I've been a huge fan of yours since I was a kid (age 14) and ever since you've been a humongous influence on me enough to write and record my first album and just released 2nd CD as of Oct 2014. I love your music and attitude of the current musical situation and see eye to eye with being integral and to hell with the sell outs.
I've met you and sat across a table from you whilst you did an audio interview with whom I don't recall but we had a good time non-the-less.
I would love to hear from you and get to be akin with you as much as my heart is with your music amongst the like of Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix etc.
My band name is Vince Hawkins and Company Slave and can be easily googled if you wish to listen to my musical inspirations (you included) of taking the blues soul feel and bringing it to modern times as you have. Peace and love

I have been a dedicated Marino fan since I saw him front row in 1979 during the "Tales of the Unexpected" tour in Baltimore, Maryland. His powerful sound and style is why I choose to play an SG. I can't begin to say how many people don't even know who he is...which is unfortunate for them...that's OK...more for my listening pleasure! I get chills every time I hear "Land of a 1000 Nights"! That tune is wicked Killer! Hope to see him again. He is rated ultra high on my most favorite guitar player list and satisfies my Rock n Roll urge when I need a fix!!!

Hello! After have reading this history about Frank Marino. I have learned more about him. And, can I say am happy that he still lives. Jimi Hendrix fore one I am sad to now that he is not with us any more. I have heard him play from the archives so to say. And I can say that it would have been an experience for me to have heard him. And now to Frank. His music is just grate. I like his music. And that his music has not spread more than it has, is kind of sad. And those people that has not listened to his music, have lost something grate. And believe me. If I get the chance to here Frank Marino, I will take it.
Best regards.
