Hello Frank,

When I was 13 in 1979 the manager of Spec's Music in West Palm Beach Bill Wilson told me about a band called Frank Marino and Mahagany Rush(what a cool name for a band, the music was even better). I bought the live album that came out at this time.

I was blown away and proud that side two was recorded at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Miami. On sat. april 19th 1980 I saw you at the Hollywood Sportatorium with supporting acts Angel, Mothers Finest, and Humble Pie. I was in the 8th row and alive. My ears were ringing when I went to sleep that night in 1980 and half the next day. It was incredible. I still have my concert t-shirt in my Rock memorbilia collection.

I bought Tales Of The Unexpected the day it was released. I would put my headphones on and listen to it loud when the family was sleeping. Its been 28 years since I have seen you perform and I have not forgotten. Your guitar playing put a spell on me and I would love to see you again. You seem so unreachable.

Rick

Hi Frank,
I attended your show outside of Boston at Harpers Ferry In July. I must tell you that you are by far the best guitar player in the world !! I have been listening to your music since the 70's.. I wish you that you would play in Boston every time you go out on tour. You have a lot of fans in this area.
I also wanted to thank you for coming out of your tour bus to talk to the fans including me that waited for you after the show and taking a few pictures with us. If you have a direct e-mail I can forward you some pictures I took at this show. You are the reason I started listening to rock and roll. I hope to see you jam again in the future.
Thank You
Jack Bladassarre

I am so glad to know Frank is still playing and touring. I have admired his style of music since I first heard him back in the mid-70's when Child of the Novelty came out. He is the reason for playing "Air-Guitar". I've got his music on CD now as I did then when it was on lp's. I still crank it up too loud because it's the only way to listen to it. Rock on Frank!

To say that Frank is one of the most versatile artist on the guitar is perhaps the worst understatement that one can attribute to his skills.
If you take the journey into his music you will find that he can shred with the best of them as well as play the blues or jazz with the best of them all the while making the listener eager to experience the next song with a smile and wondering how the hell he pulls it off with such ease.Such is the gift that God has blessed Mr. Frank Marino with.
I've had the privilege and honor to see Mahogany Rush twice in my fifty years, first in 1974 in California and then in Oklahoma City in around 1982,neither time were they the headliners but I don't think you could find anyone at either concert that would dispute that Frank and company certainly should have been.To say that he has not got his due is again an understatement and a travesty whose blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the recording industry as though they know what is best for the artist and what the audience wants.Thank God Frank didn't listen to them.
Please keep making the music Frank and let us know when the DVD will be coming.....I'll be one of the first in line to buy it.
Thank you!

Hey man, hadn't thought of you in years. During the 70's, I was a huge fan. Just lost track of you. LOL! I always considered you to be one of the premier guitarists and I'm glad to hear you're still around.

Whats up frank...This is something i don't normally do but i just recently got copy of your live 1978 cd..Now i bought the album when it came out in 1978 and use to jam to it all the time(i'm a guitar player also)you f**king rock the house..but over the years when cd's came out my record collection got put away...Well a couple of weeks ago me and a friend from work were talking about some of our favorate bands..he is a few years older than me(i'm 48)so I brought up frank marino and mahogany rush telling him you are one of my fav bands....well he went f**king crazy telling me mahogany rush was one of his fav bands,he told me he has your live 1978 cd and he loves it.I told him i owned the record but not the cd but would like to get it someday..well the following week he got me a copy of the cd..and it has been in my cd player since..The reason i'm writing this is i just found out you played at a club in the pittsburgh area called moondogs(my band ZILCH also plays there)I did not know about this show and if i did i would of been in the front row..I hope you come back to the area soon,I would love to see you live....Keep on rocking..Dave Climo.

I just found this website, and thought it was an excellent tribute to one of the most excellent (and enduring) guitarists in Rock. I've been a bassist for 28+ years, and just recently moved on to guitar, finding that two of my all-time favorite guitarists (Marino & Trower) have also been my two biggest influences.
Now I realize that this in itself is not such a strange thing, but I play oh a church worship team, and that is where the strangeness begins...
Anyway, the website Rocks! cool

Dear Frank, I love your giutar work and song tune smithing. In 1984 myself and a friend walked 20 miles to see you at Stage One. I have gotten to see you once since then at Grafities. I hope to see you tomorrow at Moondogs. Just found out today that you are coming to our area. It is hard to find your music on CD around here. We have to get it ordered as an import. I think you are one of the very best guitarists I have ever heard or seen in person. I got to shake your hand once at Grafities. Thanks alot for the good work in guitar music. Your friend in Christ, Daniel...
