Frank; Finally got computerized and found your website. I listed your live 1978 album as my all-time favorite because I was there that night in San Antonio, TX when you recorded it. Great show, great album, and many many good times watching your shows over the years. back then, I was one of those "Joe Anthony/Lou Roney" followers of the old KISS/KMAC radio back when truly independent music could get airplay. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and good luck, hope to see you again in ole' San Antone.....

God bless you and your family,

Miles C. Mueller

I remember hearing yall in San Antonio around 77, yall were on tour with Blackfoot & Nazerath. After hearing Blackfoot & then Mahogany Rush, Nazerath was purty tame. The lead singer was on a bar stool, he apperantly hurt himself during a previuos gig. The old Municipal Audatorium in S.A. was rockin, and I remember you doing a Close Encounters of the third kind solo that evening. The good old days when the tickets were 6 bucks and the concerts featured three bands. You could smell the concert several blocks away and draft beer was 50 cents a cup.
Seems like yall used to play the old Armadillo world Headquarters in Austin as well. Now some thirty years later I would like to see yall again and I plan to purchase a few C.D.'s. All my old music from those days is on 12" LP's and I still have a couple of yours in my old collection.
My son started playing about a year ago, when he was given a used Japaneese Fender squier with a cracked body. He has since purchased a decent amp and a few months ago we got him a new Gibson Les Paul studio model. He plays the darn thing all the time and has really improved alot. He listens to alot of old classic rock and his repritua includes AC/DC, Sabbath, JethroTull, Zepplin,Alice Cooper,The Who.Nugent,Scorpions, Billy Squier,ZZ Top, Judus Preist and more recently Blue Oyster Cult, White Stripes,Hendrix and Stevie Ray. I will purchase him a couple of your records and he will be playing The Answer & Dragonfly right away. If yall come back around the Alamo city {S.A.} or the capitol city {Austin} in the future we will try to attend.
Old Joe Anthony R.I.P. did alot to promote you and alot of other Canadian & British bands in the San Antonio Area. Keep on doing what your doing, wish you and yours all the best-Rock Y Roll

Mr. Marino: I saw a show in 1978 that you did in Portland, Or. I still remember it vividly. I've enjoyed your music through the years. Artistry like yours doesn't get the notoriety that it should. However, there are those of us that great appreciate your exceptional talent. Thank you so much for your craft.

Hey Frank

It's been a while since we last chatted, so sitting here late in the evening, I thought I'd drop you a few words and to say, that after browsing through the site and your guestbook, how great it is that you continually receive the kind of kudos and accolades from fans across the globe. You most certainly deserve it.

As for me, my experience with Mahogany Rush dates back many years to rehearsal sessions with Paul and Jimmy at Cleroux Place in St. Laurent (Montreal) - Remember? I swear it was so loud, I thought that house was going to explode - and I was standing OUTSIDE!!!

My next encounter happened a number of years later and quite some time after the Place Des Nations show where you were recording what was to eventually become the MR Live album. I happened to see you parked on Dudemain and O'Brien (I think it was the beefed up Camaro - with nitrous?) and came over and asked when you expected the album to be released. You pointed to the back of the car where there were tapes and tape boxes strewn all over the back seat and nonchalantly remarked something like "well I'm still sorting everything out." Of course we eventually saw the amazing "Mahogany Rush - Live."

I must say that as an aspiring guitarist, that concert had a profound impact on me especially when you were at the top of the tower during your guitar solo (Electric Reflections...?) and at the end, threw down the guitar that exploded below right in front of me. We did joke about it years later but the intensity and your ferocious performance that night left it's mark and I knew then what I really wanted to do.

Another quick story that comes to mind is, up until one night when we were at the warehouse on L'Acadie and you had all the gear set up to rehearse for an upcoming tour, I had never experienced the sheer power behind the volume you played at - until you handed me your guitar and said go ahead and play a bit with Paul (Harwood) and I believe it was Tim Beery(?) on drums. It felt as if there were jet engines roaring behind me and almost went airborn when I cranked up the volume a little too quickly....... That was insane, but what an incredible sound.

Well, I just wanted to share some fond memories from what seems like a lifetime ago, and to thank you for such great music and let you know that you have my continued admiration. Needless to say, I still listen to many MR songs I have loaded into my mp3 players.

Please say hi to Vince and Denise and anytime you might be heading down south this way, let me know. I'm still at the same number.
Best wishes and continued succes always.

With much respect,
Mark
(I still miss those ball hockey games at the warehouse!!)

Wow- it is really refreshing to hear and honest to god guitar player who still has the guts and fortitude to play his tail off, bold, innovative, and so many different flavors of music it's hard to name them all but what a treat.
I hadn't heard Frank since the seventies but he has aged to perfection like a closet classic 59 Les Paul.

thanks
Brian

Frank, the first time I ever heard of you was when I bought Califoria Jam II when it came out. I was completely blown away (especially when I bought it because of Aerosmith) You changed the way I looked at the guitar and hence my career.
Stay in tune,
L.A.
