Guys and Girls who play, TONE IS EVERYTHING !!
Better to be a fair player with a Good Sound than a monster player who boars you and the crowd to dealth with a flat, in your face sound.
Spend the most you can afford on your rig !!

Listen to Frank, Pat Travers , Trevor Rabin ,King's X
I know, opened for all these guys . Thats what sets them apart. TONE !!

One of the most underrated bands of the past 50 years...right up there with Cream,Grand Funk Railroad,and ZZ Top.
Non musicians have no idea how hard a three piece band has to work to achieve stage presence and compete with larger bands who have more musicians to fill the dead spaces...I been there as a musician and it's tough...to say the least :>)

The business side of music is dog eat dog...Frank is not kidding...it's their way or the highway....glad to see he's back on his own terms...way to go Frank.

Keep up the good work....love those jazz licks thrown into your blues style...very unique...I copy your style every chance I get :>)

You guys are an inspiration to all musicians....don't change a thing.

Best of luck.... :>)

I think as a musician the comparison to the late Jimi Hendrix is completely unwarranted, just as it was with Stevie Ray. Jimi, had he lived another 10-15yrs., may have reached the playing ability of you or Stevie, lord knows he had the fingers. Stevie, bless his soul, was just warming up. I have myself been a musician for 42 +yrs., having started at 5yrs. old, and still never tire of the need to experiment with sound, writing or techniques. Probably never will. So that leads me to wonder, given your time in the business and on the road, are you tired of it yet. Do you feel the need to slow down. Tour less and maybe watch the grass grow. I did a U.S. tour in 90' and then due to circumstances beyond my control left the business and have not gone back. Played a few gigs here and there and logged a little studio time but one day I stopped answering the phone. Don't get me wrong I still love to play, have the passion and even the fingers. I can still probably crank out a good solid song a week. But to be frank(pardon the pun)there just isn't anybody out there with that good warm sound from the soul anymore, except maybe you and a few others. But not many. I feel that the future of music is sadly poor based on what I have been hearing the last several years. Too many clones and no heart. Just wondering where your head is with these issues. Wondering where your heart is. I don't know. Maybe I'm just hoping your light is still burning bright. That somehow we can pass on what we feel when we play. What is in our hearts. Maybe bring some life back into the dead sounds I am hearing around me. The flat music with no heart. The obnoxious voices with no spirit. If we quit who will turn this thing around and pull music back kicking and screaming to what we know it can be again. Which I guess leads me full circle back to this. I have recently picked up the phone and started the ball rolling once again. Started writing again, getting the fingers ready. Ready for the road to give it one more hard push. I was just wondering how you feel about these things and what the future holds for you. What you are looking to do with the time you have left on this big green grassy globe. Just curious. Maybe our paths will cross on that long and winding road, IF I can pull it all together and make the magic happen for myself again, I'll see you there. Just never know........God bless you Frank, keep the faith Brother!

I tried to pick a favorite album above, but you can't do it.
I was lucky enough to have seen the band a few times, once with Kansas and once solo in a club. My brother and I still get wound up when we start talking about how great the band is live.
As good as the studio works are, and they are great. A live performance is something you will never soon forget. Thank you Frank and thank you Mahogany Rush for some of the best music ever written and certainly ever performed live.

Been listening since the seventies. I'm a guitarist, you were a big influence back then, I've gone through a Vai phase, and I'm coming back to you. Lots of soul. Love you, bro. Keep it up.

Frank;

I have been following your career since the mid 1970's. Your music is a mix of the hard driving, complex style of Hendrix, laced with the ethereal sounds of Captain Beyond. The songs are timeless, reflecting a throwback to a more superior era of rock music!
