I discovered your band one day at a vinyl record show. There at one of the tables was a local DJ's family selling off his collection as he had passed away. I knew him threw my brother who was also a DJ at the time. So I bought a promo copy of "live". Fell in love with your music and was admired how well you played. So I started to buy everything I could find. Thank you so much for giving us of your talents. Dave.

Dear Frank,

Seeing you play over the years is some of my fondest memories filled with powerful, musical inspiration. 3 hr concerts worth every minute. I always said to your other admirers when leaving a show, "Man if I could play guitar like anyone, I'd love to play like Frank." Literally watching jaws drop as you'd set the stage ablaze with amazing solos that seemed to speak directly to my soul. My longtime best friend and I will for sure miss seeing you live. I got each him and myself your new Live DVD, can't wait to indulge in that and the book too.

And yes, I'm a believer and you are in my prayers!

Big hug and many blessings, Frank!
Merry Christmas to you and all your family!

Love,
Joe Freehill

First heard album live, in ‘75, the guitar solos are unparalleled for speed accuracy and feel.I just updated my collection with Juggernaut, the power of rock and roll, and a few others. The solo on ditch queen is staggering for its ferocity and length. Franks body of work is impressive. He never got the recognition he deserved in Canada, but that is usually the case for guitaists fronted bands. Look at Trower or M Schenker, same thing. Frank stands beside them easily, a total master of his instrument. Best of luck with you battle Frank. I have no doubt you will be sharing stories with Jimi on the other side, when you are called to join the gods.

I’ve been praying for you for months and hope you are hanging in there. It would be beautiful to have an update on your health and to know if there’s anything specific we can be praying for. God bless you and your family.

I'm very sad to hear that you don't feel well to tour and play anylonger. I hope your condition doesn't complicate further and you can still enjoy life without what you like the most, playing awsome music!
Ever since I was a kid until the day I die I carry your music with me. Frank Marino is my hero!
Regards from Belgium.

Of course I only want the best for you, but am introducing you to a new generation. A young semi-nephew of mine who had good taste in classic vinyl I've introduced to The Doors, Hendrix, Floyd, Zep, Who (he doesn't appreciate as much as I) and I went to teach him about Mahogany Rush. I found this page after we read your retirement from music. Please take care of yourself. We don't care if you ever play another note. Just allow us with pleasure to enjoy the works you gave the world while you were strumming those strings.

Just know that IMHO, you made the world a better place.

To me, and now US, you gave the world your gifts, and will forever be remembered. My love.

Thank you Frank for all the great music you created and shared with the world. I find myself grateful that I was fortunate enough to hear your music at a young age. I knew it was special the first time I heard it and it always will be. Along with your fellow band mates over the years and throughout the changing members you have had some of the best players on your side. Jim Ayoub on drums, Paul Harwood on bass and brother Vince to mention a few. Just amazing and fitting for all of you to have worked together to make such everlasting music. A gift of joy to all of us who are not so talented. A true gift from our creator but not one without a lot of effort on your part. I know you recognize these truths in that all things are made possible thru our Lord Jesus Christ, all the more reason why I respect and appreciate you. A humble man not afraid to tell the truth about the music industry and to openly give thanks to God in our times is truly rare. God bless you and yours Frank Marino. You are in my thoughts and prayers for healing and may the loving arms of Jesus Christ be wrapped around you and your family.

Saw you in 84 in Kansas City. Great performance. Good luck in your recovery, I heard 'Frozen Shoulder?', I hope no more serious than that. BTW, the Chinese call this:"40 Year old Shoulder." Since it afflicts them just after 40. I had this too, and I employed a physical therapy derived from gradually increasing the exercise motions of the Asian Martial Art of Escrima. Painful. Every day painful. It took a full 4 years to get back to 100%, every day beating back that condition a millimeter a month, pain the whole time until it was finally defeated. Sorry, there is no miracle cure that I'm aware of. There's only the hard way. Good luck to you.

My guitar playing boyfriend and I saw you at The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on January 28.1983. We were so broke we could barely afford concerts, but he insisted we go and I knew you'd be everything he said and more and you were. I lose myself in "feel" every single time I listen to you play because what is coming through you and your playing is other worldly. You had the ability and guts to go there. Not many get in what I call "the Zone". To Frank Marino, the Zone is his natural habitat. You are so magnificent I barely can format my analytical mind. All I do is float in the feel, in the music. That's how I know you are the real deal. Jimi held Electric Church. Frank Marino built additions to the Church. Maybe helped with the blueprint too. Certainly my boyfriend did not give praise recklessly. He himself descended from a blues master trombone player but after playing trombone in marching band, picked up the guitar. Rest is history. And he was a real musician. He knew Frank Marino was up there with the greats. We all worship at that Church. Praying for you and that you may heal and I wish you all the best.

Frank,
Life hasn’t dealt out many folks I’d call “hero.” You’re one and I mean that with all sincerity and heart.
Get well if you can, but get better in any case.
You’re still the best damn guitarist there is (or ever was).
