I started listening to Frank in the mid 70's when a good friend (who's also a really great gutiar player) turned me on to the first live album. It totally blew me away; the solo in "King Bee" is still one of my favorites. Over the years I'll make anyone who dares enter my house listen to some selected Frank tunes and they are always blown away (the guitar players for sure!). Anyway, I like your website, keep up the good work.

I am now listening to Maxoom. I figure this will make the wait for the new CD very tolerable. I sent just regular check and realize I am in for long wait. But that is alright. I have other CDs. And playing Maxoom along with other Mahogany Rush CDs in collection will satisfy my thirst long enough until the real deal comes through. Any one who has seen Frank in concert this year, please e-mail me with any stories. I really would love to hear them.

I've been playing the new cd for 2 days now(thanks Willy)and there's some great guitar playing in it but I'm a little disappointed in the compositions. Most of them are 1 or 2 chord jams-not as much substance as I was hoping for.Right now my 2 favorites are the last 2 tracks especially Ordinary Man with it's 3rd stone from the sun flavor.I guess I keep hoping Frank will write Strange Universe part 2.Or maybe I've been listening to progressive rock for too long! Thanks Frank for the many years of great music! Pete

I too first heard Frank on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and was truly blown away; particularly having been such a huge Hendrix fan from the start. I proceeded to buy whatever records were available and to check out whatever shows were in town. I was at the Day on the Green IV show in 1976. Sammy Hagar opened and then came M.R., then Blue Oyster Cult, Jeff Beck and the J. Giles Band: What a kooky line up, but I had an epiphany experiencing that, and moved to whole new level in my own playing as a result. I also saw one show at Winterland in, I think, '77 or '78. It was amazing. Then, several years later while studying music at UCLA, I caught a completely unexpected show at their Cooperage stage as I sat down to eat. I was really touched and again reminded of what an amazing and woefully under-rated guitarist F.M. is. i think it's great that there are so many loyal fans, new and old. I hope that I can check out a show in the future when one happens in town.

First saw Frank Marino in NYC's Palladium in 1977, life has never been the same since. I have always resented Frank's critics, will never understand how any music lover could not feel the raw energy and passion that comes with every pluck of the string. Many years and dirty diapers have passed since last seeing Frank Marino live, thanks to the internet though I have been able to re connect with a part of my past that will always be cherished. Looking forward to collecting every possible album, am thrilled to learn that Frank is still rocking, he belonged in the "Rock and Roll hall of fame" before there was one! play on

Hey Frank, this is pretty cool ... nice job Willy ! A drummer friend of mine told me about this site so I had to check it out. You and I do the same type of gig and we both have a great understanding of what Jimi Hendrix did for guitar playing and modern music in general. He touched us both in a way that made us decide to make music our life's work. What greater gift can someone give to a stranger than a part of them self ? He did that ... and so do we. Anyway ..... I first heard you in the late 70's. Here's the story. Almost every time I'd play somewhere someone would come up to me and say ..... You sound a lot like Jimi Hendrix or Roy Buchanan or Eddie Van Halen but the name I heard the most was Frank Marino ! I really didn't know who you were but I had to hear this guy everyone was talking about, so I bought the " Live " album ... and WOW ... I mean ... W O W !!!! I'm not easily impressed by so called great guitar players but your playing moved me. You had feel , speed and class but most importantly you put a part of yourself into every note. To me, that's a true musician. After all these years I still listen to it and say ... WOW .. That's The Stuff ! Thanks for sharing your talent with us all. I hope everything is and stays well in your life. Peace , Al Afraim

By the sound of it you can relate to quite awhile ago.Even today I am asked. the answer is no and guess what I even have a brother named dan marino. Again no relation Once there were only 3 marino,s in the phone book today many more, not all italian. Hello all, I have now seen Frank Marino in the 70's and 00's, guess I missed a few decades. I was at the Cleveland show at The Odean. Great set. Tried to request a song from the A. King tribute cd...."I'll Play the Blues For You" but could not get close enough. Was there a Meet and Greet? I missed if there was. Well, I am getting ready to go get Money Order for new cd. I invite all of you to listen to my internet radio show on Thursday's from 6 to 8 e.s.t. Just go the http://www.ytseradio.com and click on the listen to us button, Real Audio not the best format but we like to play music that stupid radio stations feel is not really popular, heh like Dream Theater, Tommy Bolin, Superior, Vanden Plas, Porcupine Tree, Ozric Tentacles. If nothing sounds familiar then you should give us a try. New experiences in the World of music that is being ignored by Pop radio. Take care and Frank___Keep Rocking.

Hi Frank - I just got back fom the House of Blues Show in Chicago. Superb!! You played parts of that guitar that were'nt meant to be played - it ain't natural. High points of the show were "R&R Hall of Fame" & Killer solo that ended the show, plus all of your other solos. 'Bout the time I thought you peaked, you'd pull another rabbit out of your hat and outdue yourself (I mean how many sounds can that guitar make anyway !!). Not only are you cool to watch but have the best sound- ever. By the way, I was impressed with the new line-up (who's that future guitar hero?), all excelled in their performance. "Strange Universe" & "Stories of a Hero" were nice surprises. NOW YOU GOTTA TOUR MAN. Across America. You just gotta. Thats all I can write. My fingers are still sore from watchin' you play. Thanks

I tell everyone who likes this type of music, about Frank.I play some songs for them, and instantly they're hooked.I have most of Frank's material in one format or another.I remember the first time I heard Mahogany Rush IV,I was at my cousins house, and says he's got this new album he want's me to hear.So I said ,go ahead put it on,and right from vthe first song I heard"Dragofly"I was hooked. The rythem, spacey jam that just blew me away.I couldn't believe the sounds I was hearing. And from that day on,I was looking for more albums of Frank. Now I'm trying to get everything on CD,to complete everything.I seen Frank Live in Grand Rapids Mi.for free on his last tour. This was the best muscian I have ever seen. Thanks for the music ,and I'llalways be a fan.God Bless.
