Having seen Mahogany Rush in Texas in the late 70's was a real treat. This is SOLID HEAVY DUTY ROCK & ROLL!!!!!!!! Grew up listening to this music. Those were the days.

I got to see Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush live three times.I had been a fan of the band for about three years, and found out he was opening for Ted Nugent at the Boston Garden.I'm not sure but I think it was 1977.He played his set and left the stage,he then came back and did one more song then left again.People went crazy and wanted him back again,he did aonther song and left again, they turned on the lights and the crowd went insane wanting him to return to the stage again to the point if he did not they were going to rip the place apart.Needless to say he returned back to the stage to perform one more and when he was done he went to the mic and told the crowd that he couldn't come back again because they needed to setup the stage for Nugent. He thanked everybody. The second time was at the same venue with Kansas, and basicly the same thing happened as before he was called back three times. Both shows he blew the headliners away without a doubt.Leaving I overheard people talking saying"WHO THE HELL WAS THAT FIRST GUY THAT OPENED UP THE SHOW, HE WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!".I thought the same, but I knew that it would be that way.The last time I saw him was at the Paradise Club in Boston. The opening band was a local band called Mass.I wasn't crazy about them, but most of the people there were their fans not Franks.I hung around outside after the show with Paul Harwood until the rest of the band came out.It was at that time I got to meet Frank Marino. While talking to him he wasn't real happy with the crowds response, but basicly they were there for the first band.I told him that it was not an advertised show,I didn't hear about it until about 4:30 that afternoon.I thought they put on a great show, even Vinnie got to rip up the fretboard a few times and I told him so.He told me"I was good, but not as good as Frank".I told him that I was not comparing him to Frank.I've waiting for years for him to come around again.Hopefully he will be soon.I can't make it to the show in Canada, hopefully he will come to some place closer to Massachusetts,USA.

since a very young age i have been moved by not only Franks ability to play some of the blastingest riffs known to mankind but his lyrical song writing style that truly has no equal.i have turned countless numbers of earthlings onto Frank and have created a new legion in the south that i call home .so the only dream left unfulfilled at this point is to look in Franks eyes and tell him what he has done in my life and how much i appreciate the privalage of the honor of being able to be called a lucky fan. Frank i am sure your family is very proud as i truly am of your footsteps that have no equal, please know that you have a life long admirer that holds you in the highest regards. yours truly scott posey and family wendy daniel scott

I was so pleased to find this web site. For years I have loved this man and this band. I have been into Heavy Metal, Industrial, EBM, Gothic, and Electronic music, since the 70's, but this, this, is the music I have always loved the best! I guess I found this site right in time to see the creation of a new CD, and possibly a tour!!! Frank with the advent of the internet, comes new life to all the music that the industry continues to ignore. Now the fans will come to you through this wonderful tribute, this website.I must say that this is one of the nicest I have seen. Looking foreward to your new CD and tour, keep up the faith, God bless you!

Just recently rediscovered Mahogany Rush, which was a huge influence on me in high school, early 80s. Cool to see that more is ahead!

Having seen many a Marino concert, I can only say I hope the new album and tour is a success. It is amazing to go to a show and see Marino first timers and staff at gigs just blown away by what Frank is doing. I lend out CD's and old vinyl and sometimes it never comes back, but that's ok - spreading the good news.... Hope you make it back to the Washington, DC Virginia or Maryland area. Good Luck Frank.

Frank's recent remarks on the board revealed the fact he has not retired from the scene altogether. He was just sick of the machine and needed to step away from all the hubbub of the music industry. With a re-emergence with a new CD and a blues CD, Frank will be welcomed back with open arms. And again he will demonstrate to us all the gifts he possess to make us all take notice again. Anyone wishing to e-mail me and discuss favorite Frank Marino Stories. Please do so.

I received a new message from Willy's mailing list about the forthcoming album from Frank and I have to mention my compliments for all the work Willy puts into this site and the mailing list. His unselfish aproach is really touching and if I could add something to his great F.M. site I would, but it's so complete and comprehensive there's hardly something you can add. Frank must be pleased with Willy's activities because he supports him with all kinds of background information you normally don't get with other sites!! Thanks Willy for your great work and your efforts to maintain a link between Frank and his devoted fans. I'm sure this site contributed to the fact Frank is coming back into business!!! Regards, Alex, The Netherlands.

I used to love Marino back when I was 18 and had been playin guitar for 3 years. Dragonfly was about the only album I ever got hear of him, and I loved it. I never really heard anymore about him untill recently when I found the dragonfly album on the net. You can hear where Stevie Ray Vaughn picked up some licks from ol' Frank. smile I didn't even know Frank was still out there playin'. This is a very well done page, you pretty much got it all. Really nice work. I'm a big fan of Frank and would love to get a chance to see him. You can bet I'll be checkin' out all those other albums I have missed. Going back now and pickin' up some licks off of Frank can only be a good thing for your playin. Such an incredibly smooth player. Findin' Frank again has been like opening up some long lost and just found treasure chest. Thanks for making such a great page so I can get all caught up on Frank's music. Sure would be cool to get to hang out and jam with Frank sometime huh? smile Thanks, Gary "Sik" Herod.....Vocals/Guitar Band: Kartel

For me it is the lyrics. The guitar was the attraction, but the writing was the identification.Ive found no one who strikes me.

I feel that Frank Marino is absolutely a great guitarist. I firmly beleive that the original composer of a tune is the best performer of that tune. However ,Franks version of all along the watchtower is killer!!!
