HELLO!! I'm a Japanese woman living in the northern city of Japan Sapporo. Yesterday I met a man from Canada at the bar of Cuban Salsa "HABANA". I spoke to him and I knew his name is Aleck Duncan, president of Scarlet pursuit logistics Inc. He saw me wearing Harley Davidson's leather jacket, and asked "Do you like Rock?" I answered "Yes, I love R&R, HR/HM, Blues..." He smiled and said "Then, I will change your life!" He gave me two information. Your name and this URL. I haven't got your CDs yet and I'm going to look for them at Tower Records in my town. I'm looking forward to listen to your tunes, hoping that your music will change my life!!! I'll send you e-mail again soon!! From far east coverd with snow. Emi AONO

I've been a big fan of Franks music since I was a teenager in the 70's cruising around crankin the Lear Jet Quad 8-track in the car and watching him blow Aerosmith & J.Giels off the stages of Los Angeles. Every time I've seen Frank play he plays "for hours"...no 45-90 minutes "and out" like a lot of bands. At one club I saw him in... south of L.A., he played a couple of hours until closing time, let the waitresses pick up the drinks...then played another hour and a half. The guy truly loves to play (and I love to listen). I was even more fortunate in the 80's to get to talk with Frank & his band members during his "Full Circle" tour in L.A. Frank was willing to just hang around and talk with me before a show, a number of times, keeping the conversation going himself while I tried to overcome the shock of getting to meet the man who created so much music I love. He invited my wife and I to sit at his table at a local eatery after the show... and again...couldn't have been nicer if he tried. He made an already huge fan an even bigger fan. I hope to see him again some day here in the North East and I wish him all the best life has to offer. He's one musician and star that I'm proud to have followed all these years and worthy of the admiration.

I,ve been a big fan ever since my older brother turned me on to "Child of the Novelty" way back in '74 or '75. I've seen Frank live 3 times, but not since '82. He is still far & away, hands down, without a doubt the BEST!!! And I've seen some pretty good ones too, including Trower,Derringer,Blackmore,Santana,Travers, etc. However, none compare to Frank Marino. Keep rocking Frank! Here's to hoping I get to see a 4th live show.... God bless you, Mike

I first was turned on to Frank by my brother in 77,an every since I have been a hardcore listner.I got to view the live experience in 79 Tales tour,an in 80.This man play's with every ounce of his soul. The last time that i know of that he played here was in 82 which was the last time i got to hear an see one of the greatest guitar player's around.Forget the comparisons to Hendrix,Frank can hold is own when it comes to playing some of the greatest rock music.I just wish i could see him an meet him. It's real hard to find pictures of him.I only have a few myself an i have been collecting rock stuff since 75.If only wishes would come true.Keep on rockin an let's keep the Power of Rock an Roll livin on an on.I've only got one live video from California from 92 in San Jose. It's in a club.See ya help me if you can.

I have been a devoted fan of Franks from the first day I heard the Mahogany Rush Live album when in high school 1979. I have turned meny a friend onto Frank over the years. Most of them saying they never heard of him. Once they hear the power and punch of his voice and fingers its all over. Looking foward to his new album.

Saw Frank back in '78 at Stockton,Calif.Civic Auditorium where he headlined to Judas Priest. Also at WINTERLAND in S.F. and Kubuki N ightclub in S.F. Seen 100's of concerts but never have I felt more relaxed when I was Mahogany Rushed (if you know what I mean)than to flow into Frank's music very, very comfortably. Take care to ALL !!!

I`m new to the net, but certainly not a stranger to your music. I, like yourself, started my journey with Jimi. When you came to my attention, the void was filled. Thank you for being a part of my life. And my sincerest thank you for writing the most beautiful song these ears have ever heard (still!) ... `Buddy`.

I've been a fan for years (as a hobbyist guitar player how could you not be a fan). The fans are die-hard and solid. Illustration: I was once in a record shop and made some rowdy exclamation (something like \ldblquote Yea baby! These are mine nobody touch \lquote em) when I found Child of the Novelty, and Strange Universe on CD for the first time. They were bloody expensive imports, but worth their weight in gold. A fellow stepped up to me and said, \ldblquote So you\rquote re a Marino fan eh? Have you ever heard Maxoom.\rdblquote To which I had no reply other than to say \ldblquote hell no, it\rquote s been out of print for years!\rdblquote Being a fan we immediately bonded and with such a trust established (in about 10 minutes) he lent me his vinyl version. I don\rquote t know of another fan base (other than The Dead) that would be so hip as to have one person lend an out-of-print disc to a new acquaintance just on the credentials of being an avid fan and wanting to share the groovy tune-age. I finally saw Frank at a show in San Jose CA in the early 90\rquote s-absolutely blazing. I have always been saddened that Frank has not reached the apex of acknowledgment that he deserves (same with other artists like Rik Emmmett, Uli Jon Roth, or Robin Trower) and turn as many people on to his music as I can. In my mind absolute virtuosity deserves heavy recognition! I was pleased to see, in Frank\rquote s letter to his fans that he is at peace with his career, because if I had my way it wouldn\rquote t be \ldblquote have you heard of Frank Marino?\rdblquote it would be \ldblquote which Frank Marino disc do you have with you today?\rdblquote smile The thing that really stokes me is that off the internet I can get all the Marino I have on those 12\rdblquote antiques on CD, while my cheesy local shops and mainstream-pop-garbage-CD-shops only have \ldblquote Live,\rdblquote or \ldblquote Tales of the Unexpected\rdblquote if I\rquote m lucky. Thank you Frank ("Buddy") for all the good music over the years! Nice site, and give Frank a high-five for me when you next meet up with him.

It was the winter of 1980, I had just started taking the guitar seriously, practicing constantly. A neighborhood guitar hero, a couple of years older than myself, came over my house one day with a copy of Mahogany Rush Live, he left that 8 - track tape with me to listen to. This, along with Gary Moore's Albums, would become the most important recordings I would use to refine my own playing skills. To this day I get Chills listening to "New World Anthem", or marvel at the great choice of notes and phrasing in "I'm a King Bee." I still have that old 8 - Track tape, as well as several other copies of that great recording, and I pull it out to listen to any time I need inspiration to become a better guitar player, Thank You Frank Marino A true fan, Bill McKeen

I never listened much to his music, even though I was intrigued by the album covers, I've heard maybe 3 of his albums, but I was and am very impressed with his work. Being a devoted Led Zep fan I never have ventured to far out of their relm. But I do listen to Hendrix, and if Frank isn't Jimi reincarnated, then he is a pretty good imitation. Frank is just a couple years older than me (08/26/56)so I can relate and being a musician myself his music is much more enriching, since I know how difficult it is to do well. I am definetly going to get more into his music and hopefully see him live if he is still touring. Jon Kukuk / jon_kukuk@yahoo.com

i didn't really know anything about his music until here recently. one of my high school teachers was talking about jimi hendrix, and he suggested that i check out frank marino. he also took it up on himself to make a tape of marino and robin trower. needless to say i dug it. marino took the influenece of hendrix and put his own stamp on kickin blues rock n roll. i will continue to try as hard to put his inspiration in my guitar playing just as i do the greats such as hendrix, trower, and stevie ray. what i like most is his passion for music and his ablity to amke a guitar sound groovy as hell. i will try to check more of his work in the future. he has the gift, he is as just as much a guitar god as the maintream players. i respect his artistry to not give a damn about industry. it's what's in your soul that counts, thak god above that someone who has talent feels that way. another thing that intrigues me is the choice to not fuck around with lsd. i've done it, but i love music too much to have my brain fried on that shit. i'm only 18, but it takes alot to make an impression on me, and this site, and the story of marino has. more than anything his soul, and passion for guitar has touched my soul as well. keep it real brother, steven lee arnold
