I saw you in Stockholm 1983 The Juggernaut tour, the name of the place was "Glädjehuset". It was one of the best moment in my life to se Frank Marino live, the show was 2 hour and 20 minutes. I really hope to see you live in Sweden in the future. I love your music. //////// Lennart (SW)

I was turned on to Frank Marino in 1978. A friend gave me a listen on his record player. The best guitar player I have ever heard. I saw him in 1979 in Dothan, Alabama. The best guitar player I have ever seen. Still to this day my senses are amazed when listening to his solos; especially "Sister Change." Thank you.

I have been Intranced by Frank Marino's guitar playing since 78-79.Seen Frank for the 1st time in 79 and the show was totally awesome.Had the pleasure to see him again in 80 at the Rock and Roll Marathon and again total Ripping of the fret board was going on that nite.Last time was in 82 0r 83 can't remember just remember seeing him at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas.I was kinda messed up then. One of the few shows I don't rember the year. All I can say If you want to hear Great Guitar Playing Put on a Frank Marino Album and Be prepared to be Blown Away By Crank the Frank Marino.I can not WAit till Frank comes back to Dallas Texas.

About fifteen years ago when I was still in University, a friend of mine put Frank's version of "I'm a king bee" and "Johnny B. Goode" of the Live-album on tape for me. Ever since I became a guitar-freak and for years I collected albums of all kind of guitar-maniacs like Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Uli Roth, Micheal Schenker, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Santana, Tony MacAlpine, Nuno Bettencourt, Van Halen and many others. But....Frank always stayed my guitar hero and still is!!! I only saw Frank play once on his Juggernaut Tour in Paradiso, Amsterdam. A brilliant performance nevertheless he didn't play his best song ever: "Ain't dead yet", nor "Go strange" or "Runnin' wild", all great songs. Next time you come to Amsterdam Frank you better play some of that great stuff!!!! So they all know... We ain't dead yet!! Wim van Loon

I first heard of Mahogany Rush back in 1974 I think. Never heard the music but was told that this guitar player was the jammy'est guitarist around. Then I remember seeing him on Don Kirshner's Rock concert while it was aired for the first time! (was living in SanFran Bay area at the time) If I remember it was Strange Universe and Talkin bout a feeling and star spangled banner.... something like that. I was amazed at the sounds that came out of that little tv speaker! That made me go to the record store and buy everything I could find..... A copy of Maxoom, Child of the Novelty and Strange Universe. From there I was hooked. Then around 1976 he came to Winterland and I was not able to go to that show because I was too young! My older brother went and said that he was amazing. Well I was dieing to see Frank play now... My first show turned out to be a Day on the Green in Oakland that was a monster of Rock show... St. Paradise, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, AC/DC Aerosmith, Ted Nugent. And the funny thing was that I only went there to see Frank and the crowd was there for AC/DC and Ted more or less. When Frank took the stage the crowd could care less and so I was able to run up to the front with ease. After he went into the first few tunes the crowd soon realized that this was the best damn guitar music to be heard for the day and the crowd was digging it. I was blown away by that set Frank did. Was too short though. After Frank left AC/DC came on and I was laughing at Angus because his playing was lame except for the fact that he had an SG special... but compared to Franks playing, Angus was in slow mo. The other bands sucked as well. Aerosmith sounded like shit and Ted.... well he was ok but he does not have that soul to his guitar playing....Ted was boring. Since that show, I managed to catch every Frank show in the S.F. bay area up until 1992 Last Show I saw was on the Haight Ashbury in a little club. Now I am craving more Frank shows but alas... I am here in the Big State of Texas and there are no Frank shows as of yet. So Frank I have this message for you! Please come to Dallas Ft Worth area! I love you Frank. Your the best guitarest there is for live music period! Road house blues all the way. Gets no better. BTW, I hope wild willy sent the pic over of my son playing on my SG its a hoot! PEACE ALL *john*

He inspired me to play guitar for 20 years now. He instilled in me what passion is really about. I saw him perform 5 times, and he is the only artist i ever saw that exceeded my expectations on stage.

Began following Mahogany Rush after a friend turned me on to "Strange Universe" album in 1975. Saw live the first time in Houston in 1976, backing up Ted Nugent. Frank was unbelievable. He completely stole the show. Caught all the shows in Houston in the late 70's and early 80's. Last time I saw Frank was in 1993. Every show was awesome. I hope Frank makes it back to Texas soon. Excellent website. Keep up the great work.

I grew up in the 70's and at the time my Uncle Dave who was 5 years older than me, fixed up my Grandma's basement as a party room. He had black lights and posters around the whole room, a pool table and pinball and a set of BIG homemade speakers. My Uncle used to crank em up down there.I couldn't go down there when him and his buddies were partying (I was too young). I was influenced musically by what he listened to. Years later in the 90's I was on a musical quest looking for music on CD that really meant something to me. Forget rap, country and the rest of that crap. I came across Tales of the Unexpected in a music store. The music really did something for me and since I have bought the rest of Mahogany Rush/ Frank Marino albums on CD. My Uncle would be proud of me. Keep Rockin!!!

This is a terrific site. It is one of the first things I found when I went online. I discovered Frank Marino while traveling thru Atlanta in 1974. Believe it or not, an AM radio station was playing "Chains of Space" from the "Child of the Novelty" album. I have aquired all of his albums since and look forward to each new recording. I saw Frank blow away Sammy Hagar and Nazareth in Nashville in 1978 and a year later in the same venue he did the same thing to Aerosmith. They simply couldn't follow him. Thanks for all the great music. Keep Rockin'frank.

Fantastic web site! I just sent Frank a personal e-mail but thought it would be great to let you fans in on what knowledge I have of Frank and Mahogany Rush. It was back in the mid 70s. I had been turned onto Mahogany Rush from a neighborhood kid way up north in Watertown, N.Y. But it wasn't until I landed a job in Austin, TX in 1976 at a combo radio/TV station that I caught them live. The radio station, K98, was #1 in the market so it carried some weight when you threw their name around. I didn't work there more than a month before I had arranged complimentary tickets at the World Armadillo Headquarters. This place was amazing. They didn't have air conditioning and it looked like a reconverted bowling alley. But it was the place to see groups that were just a year off their prime. I could call them up any time I wanted to see a show and they'd have a couple of tickets waiting for me. Needless to say I saw 4-5 acts per week for the year that I lived there! And great shows they were! I not only caught Mahogany Rush for the first and only time, but I also got to see Rush, Country Joe(he really did a fine show), and many more. But Frank Morino stands out vividly from the hundreds of live acts I've seen. I can't remember if that was a night the sweat dripped heavily, but then I was mesmerized by the show Frank put on. Those Jimi Hendrix cover songs really knocked out the crowd! What a fantastic showman Frank is! I sure hope he'll come to Houston for a show in the not to distant future. Keep the faith, Frank!

Great site Willy, dedicated to a great musician, but more importantly for me, a great human being. Greater because of his courage: his courage as a kid to face his fears, as an adult to face his fallibilities, and as a humble human being to give of himself to a greater good. Here's to you Frank, yes for your musicianship of course, but also for your personal strength and care for the human condition...Peace to you and yours, T
