I grew up in the UK and once while visiting home in the US in about 1975 i was watching Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and there was Mahogany Rush. I dont remember all the songs, but I remember they did Strange Universe, and I thought WTF??? It was brilliant!!. I then went out and bought the album Strange Universe and Child of the Novelty. I saw Mahogany Rush --finally-- in the late 70s. I went to many a concert where the band was billed but weren't there in the end, one supporting Aerosmith. Finally I saw the band, I dont remember if they were top bill or not, that was too long ago. It was awesome. I remember all all the songs i like were played, and toward the end, Frank Marino sat on a stool by himself and did the Hendrix song Castles Made of Sand. Totally brilliant!

wow! I had never heard of this band, and I am a big time lover of all things
rock and roll, and a huge Hendrix fan. Where has this band been all my
life! I'm unemployed, so no money to buy any of his cd's, but I've got to
get some of this stuff! I think Jimi is untouchable, but this guy is so close,
I just can't believe it! (I'm 54 yrs. young) Long live rock!

Frank,

You and Robin Trower are my two favorite guitarists of all time. I have also been playing guitar myself for the last 25 years and I still get chills everytime I listen to you. I am 49 years old and I must say you have been a major influence in my life since I was 16 years old. Thanks so much for all the memories.

Hello Frank
I have most of your early vynils and choosing a favorite one is hard but the LIVE one you did in 1978 is quite incredible...
When I feel like practicing guitar 'til it hurts I put on any of your albums and jam over it !
Anyway, I Just dropped in to see what you are up to and to wish you all the best.
Any dates in the Montral area sometime in the near future ?

Frank, I have been a fan and played with Terry Gleason and actually met you and had pizza in your hotel room in Landover in 1977 after a Capital Center (then) show with Nzarareth. I Still feel you are a caring and talented musician and a kindred spirit I just wanted to say howdy and let you know I still play guitar too and still think your style and and song choices were great. Glad you have a family now too, my wife and children are the best thing that ever happened to me. My 11 year old daughter plays bass and is getting very good! I hope to see you sometime in this area. I think Jimmy Ayoub has played with Nils Lofgrin, a very neat guitar player here whom I shared a stage with in 1998ish? Anyhow, Best to you in Montreal! Hope to see you again here if you get on tour or play single dates around DC.

Mike

Hi Frank,
I still listen to your fantastic music. It started back in the early 80ties when I bought an album, Tales of the unexpected. Since that moment you're one of my all time favorit guitarplayers. In 1985 you visited the Netherlands in Paradiso Amsterdam. We enjoyed your gig, it one the best I've been to in the last 30 years (been to about 100 gigs) it wnt on eand on, 3 hours alltogether.
Is there a change you visit eurpoe again? It would be magic. I am certain that I will listen to your cd's as long as I live.

Thanks for making that great music, wow, you're my main guitarman.

I have a remastered copy of the double set for Child of the Novelty album that I listed to for many many years. Make my wave is one of the top songs of all time. Eventually I am going to buy each and every one of your albums. That is the least I could do as your music has helped me through some unbelievably tough times in my life. Thanks guys.

I can't believe that I am writing a letter to you Frank, so here it goes. The first show I saw was Winterland in 1977. The Cow Palace and again and again untill now. In 2006 my brothers and I, and some great friends went to Santa Cruz to the CIVIC to see you. Shortly after the Santa Cruz show my brother Dennis passed away from a heart attack. Dennis was a huge fan of yours. He introduced your music to me, and to this day we all hold a very special place in our hearts for you and your music. Now it is my brother David and myself along with some very special friends to carry the torch to worship the music of Mahogany Rush. Keep ROCKING Frank we love you brother and thank you.
