Frank, I have been listening to your music since "Maxoom". I'm in my forties and grew up jammin' on your music. You are still one of my favorite guitarists. The first time I heard your music I WAS BLOWN AWAY. Of course the windowpane I was taking didn't hurt things either. I have found out over the years that I don't need hallucinogenics to still be blown away by your music. I know you've been criticized at times for copying Jimi Hendrix. To me, being influenced by a great musician like Hendrix, and sounding somewhat like him,is awesome. I have a fourteen year old son who I just recently introduced to your music. He thought your guitar playing was incredible! So now you have a new fan. We look forward to hearing something new from you in the near future. Keep on ROCKIN'. Mark

I am listening to Mahogany Rush 4. It is a masterpiece as well as most all of this groups work. I have been a fan ever since my purchase of Maxoon. Mr. Marino is possibly the best guitarist in the world.( Jimi- Paul- Page- Beck- ) all the greats along with a Texan that Hendrix even acknowleded- I'll tell Frank if he wants to know or maybe he already does- Later-TEE

Truly a very unique guitarist, very impressive style of mixing rock, blues, and jazz. I'm glad to see Frank is still alive and jammin. My opinion he has never recieved his due in the world of guitar giants. Surely in the same league as Danny Gatton, and Roy Buchanan, but Frank's style really appeals to me. He is a GUITAR GREAT. I always give him credit when I play "King Bee", I'm truly amazed more people don't know of this extremely talented guitarist.

I learned how to play from the "Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush-Live" album. It made me go back and listen to Hendrix, which, I had never done before. I'm more influenced by Frank than Hendrix.Through all the years of playing, Frank's influence never left me. Some people lately have noticed. It ain't Jimi (no disrespect) but Frank! Glad to see the CD's are coming out 'cause, I wore my albums out. If you read this, Frank, God bless you! ('Cause he damn sho' did!) You made a major impact on my life and my playing. I hope you're doing well. Saw you with Aerosmith in '78. Smoked 'em! Please come back to Birmingham!Thanx, (Luv ya', Bro')Randy

I grew up in Calif. I got to see Hard days night at the drive-in when it first came out,I was six years old at the time. I just fell in love with the guitar. The problem was when ever I got around one. It seamed to sound better if you turned it up all the way. So how come none of those guys on tv were doing that? Then one day when I was in the fifth grade. Walking through the sckool field. Listening to my little transister radio.(KRLA,AM) I heard sunshine of your love, for the first time. That guy was cranken' it up. Next Hendrix. But like all good things the critics just started bitchen'& complaining. But I really didn't think the Beatles & Stones were living up to their full potential. In 1975 a friend turned me on to this wonderfull album Child Of The Novelty. My God!! every song sounded like someone put there whole blood & soul into this. I can feel the love these people were feeling for music. You can feel the testical fortatude. It was a weird time because not only would the radio not play Franks music. But if you played with any guts. (Trower,Marino) The critics said they were a Hendrix clone. If you clime the highest mountain, swim the widest sea. You will not find a monument or hall of fame or statue dedicated to a critic. So why do so many people listen to them? You can only listen to those who have gone before us. I wander what Jimi would have to say to Frank? I know what I would say to Frank. "Thank you,For being a man, Thank you for persevering in the face of critic blocking,Being true to your convictions. Not to mention working your ass off putting on one of the best rock&roll concerts of all time. I never listen to the radio any more. All the music I listen to was turned on to me by friends. I listen to all kinds of diffrent music. I never understud why anyone could. But of them all Strange Universe is my fav. Keep the flame burning Frank. The lord gave you a gift. He only will do this for so few. To who much is given' much is expected. So if you promise to play as close to Joplin,MO. sometime soon. I promise I'll buy some poor guy a ticket. I've seen you 8 times growing up in Calif. All your albums are great. I'm glad your sober now,Me too!" GOD BLESSED YOU FRANK MARINO!!!! JAMIN'JIM LANE P.S. It was true to,you could pack a concert hall. But you couldn't find any albums. We were hearen you Frank. With the internet. we can get all your stuff. So grab the momentum and run with it. Lets go into the next century. With The name Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush. With a mission, We are out here talking. And the word of mouth is growing. The lord created the world with a word. Our word is the power of rock&roll.

I'm glad I was sitting down when I found this website, otherwise I'd have fallen and busted my head and missed Frank for another, oh, twenty years or so. I've been a fan since '74 or '75. I still play the old vinyl, they are still in good shape (even Child of the Novelty) and very playable. Hey, do I live in a cave or have these albums been available on disk in the States for some time? Thank God for the net!!! I can't believe so many people are still hungry for Frank's music, like me. This is incredible!! I guess I should get out (or on) more often. Frank Marino making a comeback . . . that's a mind bender!! Please come to New York for more than 1 show if you do tour again, that's F!#@%$'d up!!!!

I was lucky to see Mahogany Rush in 1975, in Pekin, Ill. They were the opening act for Heart. I felt sorry for Heart. Don't get me wrong, I like Heart, but it seemed so unfair to them to have to follow the best band I had ever heard. Thanks for the music, Frank.

I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed Franks music over the years. I play bass in a band here in Louisville and I guarantee you 9 out of 10 musicians here in town will have at least the live album in their collection. I think I have carried a lot of the songs either consciously or sub-consciously with me at all times. Thanks for the sound! Mark Powers

Frank influenced my guitar playing in a huge way. People that have heard me play, but don't know Frank's music, think I'm listening to myself when I listen to MR. ( Seriously, this has happened.) There were other influences, but nobody was burnin' it up like Frank. I was 15 the first time I heard FM&MR...what can I say...I never approached the guitar the same way again. I sat through some really lame bands (like Angel) in 1980 at the Capitol Center in Wash. D.C. Finally, Frank took the stage like a much needed summer storm. I was blown away! Frank...Many thanks for doing what you've done. Keep on!!! !!!!!!! Jesus is Lord!!!

I first listened to Frank about 15 years ago, growing up in Sutton, Ontario. A friend's older brother, who was into guitar playing, introduced us to the album "The Power of Rock and Roll." We used to bomb around town in an old, beat up Comet, listening to "Ain't dead yet." From what I remember, this album really rocked. Until I found this web site, I couldn't remember the name of the album, just that it contained the song "Ain't dead yet," and that it had really strange artwork on the front of it. Your web site has solved this mystery for me. My hat is off to you for creating such a great web site for a truly great musician. Now all I have to do is locate a Canadian distributor of Frank's albums, so that I can get my hands on some of the older ones... Thanks again and keep up the great work, Frank.

Hi Frank! It's me again. I ain't dead yet! I look forward to seeing and hearing you again very soon. I know you have a million and one names to keep up with, so to ring a few bells... The last time we met, I was under foot all day at two of your 1993 shows in Louisville, KY and Detroit, along with Carrie (my wife at the time). I believe that the Detroit show was your last show in the USA thus far. |¶|¶|¶| I've been watching Willy's site for over a year, but I haven't been much of a contributor. I didn't really know what to say. I guess the most important message Willy's site could send you is that all your fans old and new are still behind you 100%. I plan to be more involved with Willy's site in the future. I missed your last chat by not checking my E-mail quickly enough, but I won't miss the next one. |¶|¶|¶| Things are good on my home front. Carrie and I are friends still; we are both well. My old friend Toby Logan (from Sleeping Giant) had his first child this year, a boy, Avery Quinn. I don't know about your two youngest daughters, but I know that Denyse, Angela and you all have birthdays next month. Happy Birthday in advance, and all the best to your whole family. YOU ROCK US LIKE NO ONE ELSE - Your music touches us deeply. We miss you!

I've been a fan since 1976. I've seen Frank play over 16 times and every time he blew my mind. He changed my life. He touched my soul and help make me the person I am today. I've been playing the guitar since the first time I saw him. I have had a one time or another every album he made. Waiting for the next. Andy

I'd like to start off by just saying that I am a die hard Frank Marino & Mohogany Rush fan and always will be.Ever since the first time I heard the "Live" album I was taken over by Franks mezmorizing guitar riffs, and Paul and Jimmy's solid foundations that carried it on.As each year passed, the band only seemed to put out even better albums that really all had an impact on my life.I had the oppertunity tosee the bandfor the firs time in 1983,and to this day it was the most powerfull show that I think I will ever see.I staggerd out of that joint in a headbanged daze. I am confident in saying that Frank Marino is the best guitarist inthe world, and when anyone questions me I just give them an earfull. That usually get's them agreeing. I can't wait for the next release,I'll be checking this cool web site almost every night for info. I don't know if you really see the letters that come in Frank, but I'd like to tell you that you're the best in my book and keep on rockin', I'm going to go put on "Full Circle' now and get ready for work, until next time, take care and say hello to the band for me.Ha! Your close friend and huge fan, Ed Fuerst.
