I am a guitar player from way back. I fell in love with 'IV'. I had to see FM&MH at CAL JAM II, I believe it was II. Sorry Frank, but just before you came out a lot of people started to leave. That left a big hole that me and my buddies could get closer to the stage. As soon as Frank started playing (I think he they opened with Dragonfly) a shit load of people started coming back. I have always been a big fan. But I have to tell you that one of my favorite FM&MH tunes is the Johnny B. Goode cover on the Live album. I think that showcases Frank and the band. They don't make three piece bands like that anymore.

I opened for Frank in Austin in the mid 80's. He had some real bottled cokes that he shared with me, which were amazing considering new coke had been the only thing available, and then the horrible classic coke. He was a real gentleman, and had a wonderful new album at the time that featured an orchastral accompaniment that was very nice. My band was pretty heavy, and we fired up the audience so much that Frank ended up having to do the King Be Baby thing, and less of the new material. His tone was amazing, and he played as well as I have ever heard anyone play. What a great guy! Lance Keltner Austin TX. PS Frank, if you read this, I lost my address book several years ago, and lost track of you. Give me a call if you would like to. I have a new record out, and am going to Europe after the first of the year. Lance Keltner 3212 Dancy st Austin 78722 512-482-0195

the dude is awesome. i can't even begin to copy his style even at 29 years of age. i grew up with older brothers that turned me on to him and all i can say is.......... YOU HAVE BEEN ROBBED OF THE RESPECT YOU DESERVE. FUCK EDDIE VAN HALEN AND THOSE OTHER 1980'S LOSERS. ANYBODY THAT HAS HEARD YOU KNOWS, THAT WHEN YOU PLAY THE FEELING COMES FROM THE SOUL, AND RIPS THE HEART OUT OF ANY WANNABE TED NUGENT. GOOD LUCK AND WAIT TO SEE YOU SELL OUT THE MEADOWLANDS SOON!!!!!!

I've been a guitar palyer for about 20 years now. I've also been a fan for the same amount of time. I saw Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush at day on the green monsters of rock 1979. Unfortunately that was the last time I saw them. As far as Im concerned the other bands didn't even need to show up. Frank's sound was a big influence in the sound I eventually ended up calling my own. And his stage presence changed the way I thought about live performance forever. It's nice to see Im not the only person who remembers him/them. And I would travel far and wide to see him/them again...hint hint. Ray Souza

Well I'm just fourteen that's why it's a little amazing I like Frank Marino. I love Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix. And I play the guitar soon joining a band. And when I listen to those groups I'm overwhelmed by the power of the sounds. But none of those groups has the electric power that Frank Marino produces. His solo are just so powerful and electric I can barely believe my ears! I'd like so much to play like him! It's just totaly amazing, how can a guy do so much sound? How can he do those solo!? They are so fast and so ...ROCK! I love his enterpratation of Johnny B. Good. Incredible! None of my friends appretiate him as much as I do. It's weird that he is so much my idol and that I was born so long after he became this super star! By the way if Frank read this, I just want to ask him one question: how long did it take of practice for you to play like this? How old were you when you started playing the guitar? did you play like that in your first band? (exscuse my english I'm quebecois so I speak and wright better french than I do english)

I am grateful to share my own FM experince with everone out there !!!! To me the year 1980 has great musical listening signifcance, Some people who I had taken alot of influence from had died including Bon Scott, John Bonham and John Lennon. But to counter this I recived some awe-inspiring inspiration from some of great albums in my opinion were released The Micheal Schneker Group, Rush - Permanent Waves Yes - Drama And what I consider the Heaviest Album Ever Realeased Franks - Whats Next I remember the first time I heard this album blaring out. - I physically felt sick, The sound was too thick to me at the time - too full, No gaps whatsoever. Right from the starting notes of You Got Livin, till the final echo's of Mona it just didnt stop. It was the first time I had heard of Frank Marino Later I had to stop and think about what I was listening too. (And how I could get my own copy of the album) I finally did several years later when we had to make a bid at an auction of rare LP's (That was how hard it was to get a copy of the album down here at the time) Its a bit easier now with the internet and stuff The things I couldnt beleve about the album though was how amazing the sound was Chord construction then contributions by the band Franks wizdary guitar work - the way lead breaks were constructed together with powerful vocals, Vinces strong rhythm work, Paul Solid base foundations and Jims outstanding percussion work. Frank - Thats for inspiring People Around the World. And to everyone in North America (especially Canada) I envy you all !!!! If you get the chance to see Frank live - Do a Favour for me and do it!!!!!

It's great, and when you can find it on CD it is greater. I'm only 30 yrs old, but my brother-in-law took me to see Frank around '91 at this small club in Redondo Beach, CA. It ranks up there with Miles, Andres Segovia, and SRV; some of the performances I've been fortunate enough to see in my young, inexperienced life. Don't worry Frank, my teenage nephews already know some of your licks.

hello to frank and the crew.during the late 70s all my friends were listening to all of the popular synthetic commercialized hard rock bands of that time such as kiss acdc regular rush who ithink sux. they would listen to this music just for the sake of it being popular. meaning if eating crap was considered cool they would be eating it.aahhhh but me i had an open mind and would listen to music that was not the mainstream. ican remember buying my first marino mrush album ipaid onsale 4.99 at arecord shop called the budget disc and tapeand ibought .....whats next till this very day it remains one of my favorites. ialso own other marino albums as well.....when other people were sporting there def leppard concert shirts iwas sporting my frank marino rocks texas concert shirt...although i never seen frank in concert istill have that shirt today... have a good one and god bless greg the mayor

I too grew up in the real early 70's and listened to Frank and his band Mohagany Rush..I view him as one of the greatest guitar players with Alvin Lee of Ten Years After, Robin Trower, leslie West and Jimi Hendrix.

My band has always interspersed Frank's music with my own originals. We've done Ain't Dead Yet, Somethings Comin' Our Way and countless others. I've always been a promoter of Frank in the Cleveland OH area.
