Finally I have found what I have been looking for. A tribute to the baddest kick-ass guitarist who ever lived. Piss on what the critics have said, this man is the GUITAR. I first saw Frank on the Cal-Jam when it aired on the tube here in the early seventies. I ran right out and bought everything I could find. All the great songs from "Making My Wave", DragonFly, to the one that I feel is everything a Guitar Junkie like myself lives for;;;;;"LAND OF A 1000 NIGHTS". There will never be greater guitar song written period..... We love you Frank,,,,Thanks for every rush I have ever had.........................

Frank's music epitomises everthing thats good, bad and indifferent in rock & roll, you name it, it's there. From heavy blues orientated rock, harmonies that could calm the savage breast, to lyrics that can take you up, down and spin you around. I purchased was "Whats Next" in 1980 and my addiction grew from there. I had great difficulty in finding a vinyl copy of Maxoom and only knew of one guy who had a mint copy. I pestered him incessently and eventually offered him two weeks wages for the pressing. He gave it to me for nothing! because he said he knew it was really worth something to me. I have never heard anyone play like Frank and there is no doubt he is up there with the best, no quarter given. If you read this Frank I would like to thank you for all the pleasure your music has given me over the years and the help and strength it has given me.

I saw Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush play in Beaumont, Texas on March 23, 1980 at Fair Park Arena, a covered, open-walled rodeo/livestock show arena located on the Southeast Texas State Fair grounds. Angel and Humble Pie opened for him. I paid something like $7.50 for the ticket. That concert was one of the best I ever attended. Marino blew the roof off the place, playing some amazing guitar. I'll never forget him saying between songs that citizens in the area were complaining about the "noise." I was 17 then. Nearly twenty years have passed, but I still listen to my well-worn copy of "Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush Live." Frank Marino is definitely an underrated guitarist. You hear folks rave about how Stevie Ray was like an open channel; the music flowed freely and effortlessly through him. Well, Frank had been "channeling" years before anyone heard of SRV. I didn't get to see Hendrix, but I did see Frank Marino.

I started listening to frank in 1979 and what a magical moment it was. I remember the cold chills that shot down my spine. It pretty much set me in trance, it was incredible. From that day on i tried to turn every living soul on to him. I have yet to see him live, it always seems i'm in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope he tours in the states once again, for i will be there. Hopefully he tours the east coast. I have pretty much of everything he's produced, except for some hard to find cd,s. If there is a connection to find these please let me know. Well it's been a pleasure to speak my mind with you Frank, and your following. Hope to see you on tour, and keep on rockin. jeff

I discovered the magic that is FrankMarino at the age of 13-14 in1976 while growing up in Glasgow, Scotland. I purchased a second hand copy of ChildOfTheNovelty at a used record store and immediately it was making never ending round trips on my turntable. After that it was time to put him to the top of my faves. I have to admit i have not seen him live[i dont think he ever played in Scotland],but i am waiting for the chance to see him here in the north east USA, when that will be i do not know. Thanks for the good memories Frank. Hazyfunk.

Frank has the unmistable taste and soulfulness of a legend--no offense but its downright hendrixian. His tone is seering and his speed is remarkable. I like his combination of style, tone, and speed far better than these so called bullshit guitar heroes--the guys who don't know how to burn melodically or soulfully. I love the work of Hendrix, Trower and SRV. But to be honest, Frank's playing always seems to give me the biggest charge (lately). What really angers me is so much of his stuff isn't easy to find. I would like to get The power of rock and roll and Juggernaut on CD....so I can convert more guitarhead diehards like myself to Frank's virtues. If anyone can help me get a copy of each please e-mail me. Lastly, I must see the man perform and need help getting tour dates etc. Many thanks to Frank for really playing his ass off on recordings unlike too damn many of these whimpy (but popular) guitar slingers who lack all the taste, tone and courage to do what Frank has done his entire career. Just FYI my current favorites are: Maybe its Time Ditch Queen Juggernaut (studio version) Poppy We ain't dead yet (among many others)

Hi Frank, I'm probably your long time best fan here in Quebec. I waw you the first time at Place des Nations on Ile Ste-Helene back in the late 70's. I was 14 then and this show is still fresh in my memory. Wish we can travel back in time so I can feel the same emotions back then. I just bough on CD your greatest hits and Mahogany Rush IV. Are you still in Montreal or elsewhere. Your long time fan Pierre. Bonjour et Salut.

Hello Frank, and any other devoted fans and music addicts, That about covers it. I'm a devoted fan. Have been ever since I bought Juggernaut on vinyl back in 1982 (the first album I owned of his). I used to have all the albums on vinyl that I knew of except I, II and III which were impossible to find. I now have the three on CD from that double CD collection. Couldn't believe it when I found that one!!! I first heard about Mahogany Rush in 1978 when I had a ticket for "Monsters of Rock" Day on the Green Oakland, CA with Aerosmith, Ted Nugent and AC/DC. What a line up. I was thirteen years old and my friends had to back out on me because their parents wouldn't let them go to the show. I was heart-broken because my parents then backed out saying I couldn't go alone. What a show that would have been. One of many great regrets in my life. Oh well, I did see Frank for the first time at the "Omni" in Oakland on July 12, 1986 and have never seen a show or a crowd like that since. What a blast that was. My ears must have rang for about 3 days after. "Poppy" was the highlight of my evening and practically a religious experience. I waited out in front of the Omni several hours before the show with my best friend and a couple of other hardcore fans. We were right outside Frank's tour bus that had tinted windows you couldn't see in. We were outside drinkin' a couple of cold ones and having a smoke when Frank stepped off the bus. He walked right up and greeted us. I have to say that I was impressed with how down to Earth he was. Frank talked about the upcoming show and we asked what he would play that night. Before he left to go in for a sound check he signed his autograph on my ticket. I still have that ticket stub to this day. I also saw him a couple of years later at the Cabaret in San Jose and managed to meet the drummer outside the back door. Frank was evidently getting over the flu and didn't feel up to talking to any fans that night according to the drummer but we did manage to say hello and good-bye as the band hopped on the tour bus to hit the Midnight Highway. That was the last time I ever saw Frank in Person with his band. Not nearly enough times for my liking but that's the way life goes. Time is our most precious commodity and that has never hit home for me more than the last couple of years. Life becomes so busy that it can get the best of your spirit if you are not careful. I have been playing guitar for over 18 years now and have barely missed a day. Each day it is a new experience and have a never-ending love for guitar playing and music. My biggest hope now is to someday find a copy of Juggernaut and Power of Rock and Roll on CD. My cassette tapes are worn and my vinyl collection was lost in a fire. If anyone knows how to find these CDs please drop me an e-mail. Are you listening Frank??? I don't want to lose those songs that I have loved for 17 years. Well, I've said my piece (peace). Take care friends and never let go of hope!!! Seek out your dreams!!! -NBC

The 1st (3) LP's were killers, and I wish his live sets included more songs from the "Strange Universe" days. I also like his acoustic stuff from "IV" and "World Anthem". He's got a great singing voice and always puts out great music from the 70's to the 90's. I was lucky enough to see a video of his July 1998 show at Confederation Park in Ottawa and also caught him live in 1988 or (was it 89'?) at a bar in Minneapolis. That was UN-BELEIVABLE ! Go on tour again Frank. Come to Minnesota soon.

I like how it put all my faviorite song on to one album. Also dispite alot of the songs don't have words they make you really think of what is deep inside. Makes you reach for the thing that you are not sure where it is but you just got to reach up and try to grab it.

I started listening to Frank Marino when I was about 14 years old, and I really enjoy listening to his music. I have every one of his albums that he has recorded. I had a chance to see him in concert at the Sunken Gardens Theatre in San Antonio, Texas here in the states in 1981. I hope that I have another chance to see him perform again.

I just sent people some CD copies of What's Next and in return got back CD copies of Juugernaut and Power of Rock'n'Roll. Hearing these albums again with the cleaned up sound were great and made me realize again why Frank was and still is the greatest guitarist alive. L8R

The first time and only time I ever seen Frank was at the convention center in Indianapolis,Indiana in 1977. He opened up for Styx during there Grand Illusion Tour.I was about16 years old.I remember it well because I never seen anyone play the guitar like him.The whole concert was really cool,it was my 2nd concert I ever had been to. The first was Uriah Heep (Demons and Wizards tour)and Kiss(Alive 1 Tour).Jimmy Page,Mick Box,Joe Perry,Frank Marino were my favoite guitarists at the time.Well if Frank gets out to Los Angeles again I ould love to see him jam.Currently I am the Stage Manager for a local metal band called REACTOR here in LA. If you have any information on possible dates mail me at my home address. The e-mail address is my work address and wouldn't really be cool to communicate though that address. Later The Stage Kahunna Rock will never die(Thanks Frank)

The best $1.01 I ever will spend was in the middle seventies to see a DC-101 radio station (Washington, DC) $1.01 cent concert which featured Mahogany Rush at the Warner Theater. What a night! Since then I have seen Frank around the DC area - Warner, Wax Museum, Bayou, and in Florida at the World Music Festival (Tangerine Bowl). (Why did they cut your set short? You sure seemed pissed! - smashing guitar into speakers and what not). Any way, your last couple of scheduled shows many years ago at the Bayou were cancelled. I was bummed. Congrats on your baby girl (it takes a real man to make a woman) and don't leave us out in DC on your 99 tour!!! Gene
