I live in Montreal, Frank's City. I had the chance to see Frank and Mahogany Rush at the beginning, 25 years ago.At that time they use to play in school and arena. Frank is my inspiration for over than 25 years. It's bad that we don't have the chance to see him perform often, even in Montreal.

The first Frank Marino album, (remember those big black discs?) that I bought was "What's Next". I had heard Roadhouse Blues on the radio and decided to check this guy out. Right from the start I was blown away by this music. You Got Livin, Finish Line, all the way to Mona, THIS GUY ROCKS !!! After that I was constantly searching for Frank Marino music. I found "Live" at a used record store and was blown away again. That's when I remembered about this guy I saw on California Jam 2 that kicked everyone else's ass. I ended up finding pretty much all of his albums at that same used record store over time and was never disappointed. I never bought that Hendrix copying crap for a second. Frank Marino's music has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years now and I can't wait for that relationship to continue. Thank you Frank.

Frank Marino is the most incredible and underrated musician that has ever exsisted (that I know of anyway). His playing was so far ahead of his time much in the spirit of Jimi. But most critics and radio station's wrote him off as just a Hendrix clone, Which only show's how ignorant the media can be!! If anything Frank was the only musician who carried the torch that Jimi left us with. He was the only one to take that style of playing to the next level!! I first saw him in 1978 I was 16 year's old and went to my first concert and it was Aerosmith and opening the show was this guy I had never heard of named Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. I remember thinking who is this guy, and was I ever blown out of my away!! I heard music coming out of a guitar that I had never imagined possible!! My chair and my soul shook! I have never been the same, and have never had the chance to see Frank play since then. (He has never come back to Seattle) I am still waiting! It is so great to see people that feel the same way I do about Frank and his Music, and it is a Damn shame that more people don't get the tremendous talent that this man has!! He deserve's so much more recognition then he has recieved over these many year's! But maybe he is Ok with that.........? I will continue to give you all the praise that I have over the year's and turn as many people on to this man's talent as possible. Frank I love you and don't stop playing man you are the best!!!

Frankie-babae!Happy Birthday dude! Keep on keepin' on with what you're doin' man. We are patiently waiting for you to unleash your typical monster effort on our current totally limp and lame, modern cut and paste "music" (I use that term loosely) market and send all those posers, fakers and homeboys running back to their Mommas and music teachers! The field is nearly bare, there are only a few choices; almost all pastey, pale and stale, there is spiritual famine everywhere, people are consuming (thinking they are digging it) the meager, mindless, mediocre anti-music because they are starving for something with substance. It is you baby... The time is RIPE with SERIOUS need for a guitar strokin', screamin', smoking, mind-bending, orbit sendin', blind and blurry, righteous fury, blow by blow, TKO! You can do it!I'm waiting.Steven Van NostrandStratopunk@aol.com
