I have been a fan since 1977. Only one problem I cannot find three of your albums on CD. I have been looking for the Power of Rock and Roll, Juggernaut and what's next for 6 years. If you know of where I can order them from please email me back with a phone number or email address. I think it really sucks that you don't get the recognition that you deserve. You are one of the greatest guitarist of all times and have been one of my biggest influences since I start playing back in the 70's.

When I first picked up a copy of Child of the Novelty in the Inner Sanctum record store next to the Univ of TX in Austin, I was immediately intrigued by the exquisite artwork. Then I turned the album cover over, and the back cover notes struck me right between the lobes. My third eye was opened, and I knew I had to at LEAST give this remarkable work a listen. Can you say hooked, played and landed like a willing salmon? I immediately began scouring every available source for more of this man's unique and satisfying music. Seeing him live in Austin then, and much more recently in Houston at a venue MUCH too small to contain the smooth and jazzy yet thermonuclear guitar work I have come to love, have been diamonds woven into the rich and varied tapestry of rock & roll music that I have had the pleasure of absorbing over the years. Since then I have bought and lost (to "friends" I was turning on to the music) no less than three copies of this most excellent vintage music. Perhaps it was fated that I be in that record store that day, and I have joyfully never regretted going through that door. Frank Marino's music, along with compositions by such giants as YES, Moody Blues, Robin Trower, Nektar and Captain Beyond, has formed an intergal part of the framework of the philosophy that has guided my steps through this truly Strange Universe we have been dropped into. Keep rockin', Frank. We are still out here, still craving what only you can give us. Your music. We love you for gifting us with your love and passion. Mindsqueeze! (That's a long distance hug, bro.)

Frank- Maybe my dates described in #616 were wrong. Hollywood Palace in Baltimore gig might have been '74 and maybe it wasn't the Warner Theatre but was Constitution Hall later in D.C.. Sometime I'll dig through my collectibles to find the ticket stubs because dates are hazy from the early 70's! Anyway, as I was checking out the websites info about your history, interviews, etc., it flipped me out that I can still recall lyrics from your songs when I read the titles. Also, and this is no b.s., after a period of acid and others substances in the early and mid-seventies, I developed a strong Christian faith that kept me from returning to endless wandering! I'm sitting here shaking my head in amazement about finding all of this wonderful information about you and your music! P.S. - the Bible verses in "Guit Wars" were a revelation and warning to me during a period of deep desperation and being on the brink of returning to "old habits." As you wrote, "...maybe I'll see morning." Your music continues to provide me with focus and hope and you're just incredible!

Dear Frank, I was ecstatic to find this web site, because I have been a fan since I received your "Child of the Novelty" album as a selection from Columbia House way back when in \rquote 74. I was 14 and could not believe how incredible this album was! I listened to it so often that the grooves are literally worn out. I am an avid music fan and guitar player, but I never heard anything that appealed to me as much as that album did. For many years, I have been searching through record stores, music clubs, and other sources for the album without success. I am 38 now and I finally know (through this web site) that it is available in CD format. Of course nothing will ever replace my original album, with the great art work and all the nostalgia behind it, but at least I can now hopefully find a \lquote clean\rquote recording that will bring back the extraordinary guitar work and lyrics that I vividly recall. Thank you for making such incredible music. Your music and particularly this album are some of the many reasons why I fondly recall my adolescence. It must be a very special feeling knowing that you have touched so many people in such a positive way. Thanks again for sharing your gift. Now I'm off to find that CD. Sincerely, Doug Fargiano

Hi from Germany, since I´ve visited Canada in the mid-seventies I´m a great Frank Marino fan. It was the first time I´ve heard his music and his guitar playing. I was about 12 years old and a Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Led Zep fan (..and I´m still). It took me several years to find his albums all over Germany but now I got them all and I´m very proud of it. I hope, Frank will give much more fantastic music to us in the future....because he ROCKS!!!!!!! Barny P.S. My girlfriend is amazed about "Poppy" from Double live...she´s a fine girl.........

Hey! That's unfair!I love all the albums! (except "From the Hip", which I have yet to hear..sorry.)I picked the "Live " album, because when I was 14, I thought about playing guitar. My influences then were Blackmore, Angus, Schenker, Iommi, and of course, Jimi. ( there were many more to mention). A friend of mine, ( whom happens to have talk to Frank since then), turned me on to this record. He said, " I want you to listen to someone and tell me what you think." -{with a shit eating grin}- It was the first song on side two. The volume was on 8-1/2 . 'nuff said. Since then, I knew that this is what I wanted to do.- ( professionally or not). To this day, (almost 20 years later), Frank Marino has been THE biggest influence (along with ULI !) in my musical endeavors. Now I think I'll go pull out my original copies of Maxoom, Child of Novelty, & Strange Universe, to know that this website is truly Heaven Sent.--M.L.Nash

I first dicovered Frank around 1981 after hearing a track of "Power of Rock n Roll on Radio 1`s "Friday Night Rock Show". Always such an underated and missunderstood talent, he certainly inspired my playing just as he must have influenced many of todays famous guitarists, it would be nice if more people admitted to it. However, it has never been cool to be into him (well not in the UK anyhow). I also love his compositions, Juganaught still gives me the chils to this day! It`s great to see he still has alot of fans around the World. I have only seen him live once, at the Birmingham Odeon in 1983, only a small crowd, but a bloody noisy one and Frank gave us a cracking show of well over 2 hours, brilliant stuff! Hows about coming over to the UK again sometime Frank? I`m sure there are loads of us who would love to see you again. Thanks for all the great music, keep on kickin` it! Cheers, Chris.

Been Following Frank since 1980. Got every album I could get my hands on since. I thought he dropped off the face of the earth. I have been messing with the web since 1995 and never thought to check for info on the band ( Fuckin' Daaa...). Seems like he is alive and well. I wish him the best

Hello Again Frank! My thanks again to you and your crew for the great time this summer in Quebec City. Hope you enjoyed the review. My mother passed away on Thanksgiving Sunday while visiting my sister and I in Vancouver with my father. She passed quick and painlessly and in the company of family. While in Ottawa for the funeral, I also a few extra days to visit friends in Brockville, Montreal, and Metis Beach, PQ in the Gaspe Peninsula. Unfortunately I wasn't in Montreal long enough to phone to arrange a visit. I just wanted to say that I brought the Best of CD with me and must have listened to it about 4-5 times while on the road. Your music has always had an emotional impact on me, and this time was no different. It was a great source of comfort in this time of loss and specifically, the song Sister Change reminded me of how we must all cope with change in our lives including the death of loved ones. My Mom and I were very close. She had been putting me thru school again studying Networking at CDI and now with the help of songs like We Ain't Dead, Watchtower, and Keep on Trying Anyway, I am firmly resolved to finish my studies and make her proud of me. Your music keeps me firmly planted and helps minimize my grief during this time of loss. My thanks again and God Bless.

Ive been a die hard Frank Marino fan since the early 70's.I have followed his career even till today. I still say Frank Marino is the greatest Rock Guitar player of all time. Bar none. I still feel the same excitement and energy when I listen to Frank now as I did years ago. I love Robin Trower, Stevie Ray etc...but Frank Marinois the one who just did it for me and still does. Thanks for all the great years of music Frank and for keeping me out of trouble. When I was a teen I would rather try copping your licks instead of going out with my friends.Your biggest fan,Fred Chesnes

Frank, I first saw you perform at the Hollywood Palace in Baltimore around '73, which led to more of your concerts in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Largo, MD. Although I've seen a lot of guitarists over the years, including Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clapton, Nugent, Santana, Iomi and many others, your music had a profound impact upon my life. I'll never forget leaning against the stage at the Warner Theatre in D.C. and being mesmorized by your talents. Your lyrics helped provided insight into life's realities! I can't fully describe the emotional flashbacks I experienced today when I came across this webpage. You've never received the support you deserved from the record industry because I've never witnessed another as talented as you. Amazingly, it was nice to see that you passed your guitar genius talents to your brother(but he's not you!). Clarify one thing - is George another brother? Also, I hope that my friends from youth, Mark, Norman and Roger have found this webpage because once we heard your music, we remained loyal fans. Where can I find some videos of you mastering the guitar? May God bless you and your family for sharing your talents and experiential music with the world!

Requiem For A Sinner was the first song I heard from Mahogany Rush (promoted by George Wayne in the late 70's, Australia's best rock DJ on 2JJ, an alternative AM rock station in Sydney, Australia, now 2JJJ on the FM band). It felt like a punch in the stomach and I had to sit down and listen to it. Great stuff!!!
